io feci questo test diverso tempo fa.
Confrontai il timedemo1 sia con Linux sia con Winzozz. Ricordo che la differenza fra i 2 era di 2 o 3 FPS. |

A me interessa moltissimo, fra l'altro sono impazzito cercando di far andare i driver ati sulla mia slackware.
Come se non bastasse ho una radeon mobility 9700, una gatta da pelare in più ![]() Ho visto dei bench che facevano il paragone tra linux e windows usando stessa scheda e stessi giochi. Con le Nvidia le differenze erano poche, spesso qualche fps in più nei sistemi Linux, con le Ati sempre meno fps sotto Linux. Questi bench erano stati fatti con giochi recenti, usando sotto Linux Cedega (la versione a pagamento di WineX per usare i giochi più recenti che sfruttano el diretcX) |

non è per fare quelloo che rompe...ma in effetti non credo che l'interesse sia poi così elevato: sono convinto che la maggior parte degli utenti sia semplicemente curiosa (qui quasi tutti per un motivo o per l'altro odiano MS e nonostante abbiano nel 90% dei casi un sistema piratato sembrano non vedere l'ora di liberarsi del "giogo" di Bill: servirebbe solo per alimentare un thread pieno di "adesso passo a Linux"/"Windows è finito"/"a morte Bill" etc etc)...semmai sarebbe bello un articolo ogni tanto sulla situazione gaming/driver di Linux che magari mettesse in evidenza quanto è facile/difficile far andare un gioco con quel SO e quali sono le difficoltà da mettere in conto.
Ritengo quindi che il tempo sarebbe meglio speso per aggiungere ai test delle schede video anche altre configurazioni oltre a quelle top di gamma: lo so anch'io che Doom3 è 7160000 FPS con un Fx-57 ed una 7800gtx ma sarebbe anche interessante sapere come si comporta un misero Venice 3200+ o un P4 530 al di là dello striminzito test sulla scalabilità che dice poco. |
