Nuova scheda madre da Tyan per processori Opteron

"Fremont, CA, July 25th, 2003 - Tyan® today announced the Tomcat K8S (S2850), the industry's first single AMD Opteron™ server platform. With features such as ATX form factor, 64-bit architecture support, and dual Gigabit Ethernet LANs, the Tomcat K8S (S2850) is an ideal choice for those looking for a high-performing and affordable Opteron™ server platform.

The Tomcat K8S (S2850) has many valuable features. The platform has an onboard ATI® RAGE™ XL graphics controller which produces richer graphics, dual Gigabit Ethernet LANs for high bandwidth, integrated four-channel Serial ATA support for maximum storage, and six PCI slots for expandability - all in an ATX form factor. A second version, offering on-board RAID is available for those, who are looking for higher data security. In addition, the platform achieves maximum bandwidth and low latency through the Opteron™ HyperTransport™ technology and integrated memory controller. Four memory slots can be used to add up to 8GB registered DDR333 (PC2700) with or without ECC. As an alternative, registered DDR200/266 (PC1600/2100) can be used.
