Sono passato da una 9700pro ad una 6800gt: da come stanno le cose, per il momento credo che la mia prossima scheda sarà nuovamente una ATi. Vedi tu.

Quando faccio partire il Control Center mi compare un messaggio che dice che non ho le autorizzazioni necessarie x accedere al programma!!

Che cacchio significa?

catalyst 4.9 : (best quality, no AA , no AF)
doom3 : HQ 1024x768 shadow on
timedemo prima volta= 30,1 fps
timedemo sec volta =34,1 fps

Omega 4.10 beta : (best quality, no AA, no AF , "no" IA )
D3: HQ 1024x768 shadow on
timedemo prima volta= 28,9 fps
timedemo sec volta =32,7 fps


Omega 4.10 beta : (best quality, no AA, no AF , "max" IA )
D3: HQ 1024x768 shadow on
timedemo prima volta= 32,8 fps
timedemo sec volta =41,0 fps
(note: con max IA il caricamento del timedemo è stato piu lungo)

Che bello ora con i 4.10 non mi funziona più Halo, dopo 5 minuti di gioco schermo blu miticiiiiii!!!!
Per ogni gioco ci vuole una release di drive

Io ho installato il pacchetto senza control center (mi fa cagare...) e per ora tutto bene, nessun problema, e con doom3 vanno come i 4.9 forse un pò meglio...

WIN XP non riconosce il ricevitore del telecomando della ATI AIW 8500DV.
nel registro degli eventi risulta :
"il servizio x10device non è stato avviato per il seguente errore : impossibile trovare il file specificato"
Eppure ho installato l'ultimissimo software della ati ossia il remote-wonder-2-5-0-0
ma nulla, così come per ogni altro software precedente !
Dopo l'istallazione del software , non viene + fuori l'icona del telecomando sulla barra delle applicazioni.
Eppure tuto funzionava prima di installare il SP2.
Ho anche riformattato , ma anche senza il SP2 ora il telecomando non funziona più.
Se qualche anima buona volesse aiutarmi ...

Ebbene mi ritrovo in GESTIONE PERIFERICHE con
* PERIFERICA USB SCONOSCIUTA , senza drivers .

Ed inoltre in VISUALIZZATORE EVENTI mi ritrovo l'errore :
"il servizio x10device non è stato avviato per il
seguente errore : impossibile trovare il file
specificato"

cercando on line ho trovato che non sono il solo !

I have a problem with my remote control.
If I go in Services (in windows XP) I find X10 Device Network Service and the path of the file is ATIMultimedia/remctrl/x10nets.exe
But I haven't this file!!
Have you got this file in your pc???

Regarding Remote Wonder issue:

There are two potential issues that may occur after installing the Remote Wonder drivers. These errors can occur with any version of the driver and affect the x10net.dll file. Both errors appear as Windows loads and occur for different reasons. They appear as follows:

1. 'RUNDLL' error loading c:\progra~1\ATI... The specified module could not be found.

2. Run DLL as an app has encountered a problem and must close.

"AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.0 ModName: x10net.dll ModVer: 2.0.0.40 Offset: 000155b0"


Solution(s):

1. This error is specific to a problem with the x10net.dll path in the registry. The following script can be used to correct the error:

- Click Start, go to RUN
- Type REGEDIT, click Ok
- Highlight My Computer, click Registry, select Export Registry File
- name the *.REG file and save on the Desktop

* if you do make a mistake removing or changing entries then boot to Safe Mode and double click the *.reg file to restore the registry

- Select Edit, click Find
- search the registry for entries containing:

rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\x10net.dll

and/or:

rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ATIMUL~1\RemCtrl\x10net.dll

- Right click on Default and select Modify
- Change PROGRA~1 and ATIMUL~1 to Program Files and ATI Multimedia
- Add quotation marks around the path like this:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\x10net.dll",EntryPoint

C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\x10net.dll",EntryPoint "%1"

Si ma se hai una 8500 "magica"... tutto è possibile...

Io non ho provato i catalyst 4.9 visto che ho appena preso una 9600pro
ed ho installato direttamente gli Omega basati su 4.10beta...

Posso dire che i driver si comportano abbastanza bene come stabilità
(migliorabili le OpenGL) mentre sulle prestazioni posso fare pochi raffronti.
Quello che però posso assicurare è che la funzione A.I. sulla mia scheda
aumenta veramente le prestazioni:

9600pro 470/430 (devo raffreddarla un pò per poter salire...Ce l'ho solo la 4 giorni!!! :-) )

ho installato Ati Tray tool e nn posso piu usare il ccc, in pratica quando provo ad lavore con control panel, una schermata mi avvisa che nn poseggo una sceda ati possibile? mentre posso usare il ATT come contol. quale è meglio per settare la scheda? e i driver sono cmq rimasti gli stessi credo!

Ho risolto l'arcano.
Ho ripensato a quanto ho fatto giorni fa oltre alla installazione di SP2 : ho cercato di connettere le due porte USB anteriori del mio case alla scheda madre.
Onestamente non avevo idea alcuna di come i differenti 4 pin dovessero essere connessi alla scheda madre. Così ho iniziato a provare, usando il ricevitore del telecomando Ati come tester per saggiare l'avvenuta connessione delle USB frontali.
Bene guardate qui cosa trovo on line :


Some Intel® Desktop Boards have a USB front panel header that allows an additional 2 USB ports. The ports can be routed either to the front or rear of the chassis by attaching a front panel USB cable. The header may be labeled "Front Panel USB" or "FNT USB" on the desktop board.

Note: Improperly connecting the USB cable may cause the external ports to not function properly, damage to the desktop board or damage to the external device. Proper connection is recommended.
Use the pin and signal name designators in the table below for attaching your USB cable to the Intel® Desktop Board.

Credo pertanto di aver "bruciato" il ricevitoreUSB wireless !
Che voi sappiate è possibile comprare solo questo ? oppure invece vendono solo ricevitore + telecomando ?

P.S.
lascio un allegato della corretta installazione delle poprte USB frontali, caso mai qualcuno avesse bisogno di tale schema. Non vorrei che incappasse nel mio stesso errore.
