Silicon Integrated Systems ha da poco annunciato una nuova piattaforma desktop basata sul binomio SiS756 e SiS163 per sistemi desktop AMD.
Il chip SiS756 integra bus HyperTransport ad un 1GHz ed abbinato al Southbridge SiS965 garantisce la presenza di due slot PCI-E x1, scheda di rete gigabit lan, 8 porte USB 2.0, scheda audio 7.1 AC97, 4 canali SATA in modalità RAID 0,1 0+1 e JBOD.
Il già citato chip SiS163 si preoccupa invece di estendere le funzionalità di rete aggiungendo alla piattaforma desktop funzionalità wireless on board in modo da avere una piattaforma completa per l'accesso in rete.

The SiS756 chipset provides support for the new PCI Express specification, while the SiS163 WLAN chip provides support for 802.11b/g wireless LAN specifications.
