Aiuto per configurazione Proftpd...

L'idea sarebbe quella di rendere accessibile (solo in lettura e ad un solo utente!) da remoto via ftp una directory della mia home,ad esempio /home/nz/ftp.
Ho installato Proftpd ed eseguito il relativo demone.
Come configurazione ho soltanto editato un po il file proftpd.conf di default.
Morale:
se digito:

ftp://user: pswd@my_ip

vedo la mia cartella.

Problemi:

1) come faccio a sapere se l'accesso è in sola lettura?
2) perchè non fa l'accesso anonimo?
3) come si fa a far apparire una finestra per l'immissione di user e pswd?
4) se metto user e pswd di root non si connette

Ho cercato in rete qualche .conf già fatto ma quelli trovati era un po troppo complessi per me

Mi date qualche suggerimento?

Per accesso anonimo vedi:

/etc/ftpusers

Per il fatto che sia in sola lettura se l'hai messo nel file di configurazione certo che lo è...
