Croteam e Devolver Digital ( Nuova compagnia di produzione e publishing con sede in Texas ) annunciano l'imminente uscita del remake in alta definizione dei primi due episodi della saga di Serious Sam ( the fist encounter, the 2nd encounter ):

Il motore utilizzato sarà il nuovo Serious Engine 3, annunciato 2 anni fa, darà alla luce anche il nuovo Serious Sam 3:

CDV Publishes PC Classic

CDV Software Entertainment AG works together with Croteam and Devolver Digital to develop Serious Sam HD for the PC, which will be released in all territories (except in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independant States) in retail stores and as a digital download, in autumn 2009.

Serious Sam was released in 2001 and received numerous awards, including Game of the Year from Gamespot and the Editor's Choice award from IGN. Based on Croteam's Serious Engine 3, Serious Sam HD sticks to the original by sending the hero to the battlefields of various ancient civilizations against Mental's armies. The same speed and action-packed game mechanics and the characteristic humor have been preserved and will shine like new in high definition!

Quindi secondo Croteam anche se in alta definizione la formula delle armi "grosse, cattive e devastanti" con tonnellate di nemici sullo schermo non cambia assolutamente; anche la leggendaria fluidità rimarrà invariata pur avendo una grafica completamente ad alta definizione.

L'unica "delusione" rimane la modalità cooperativa giocabile solo con 4 giocatore contro gli 8/16 giocatori dei due vecchi titoli...

i primi due episodi davvero belli, il terzo davvero penoso. Spero che per migliorare la grafica non sacrifichino lo spospositato numero di nemici contamporaneamente su schermo (come avevano fatto per il terzo episodio)

Il "prezzo" per la versione Xbox sarà di 1200 Microsoft Points (15 dollari), quindi si presume che il costo della versione PC non si allontani troppo da quella cifra.

Serious Sam 3 abbandonerà il look "cartoon" che ha contraddistinto i precedenti titoli della serie, confermando le prime immagini del motore grafico e del gioco apparse in passato.

"Non posso rivelare nessuna nuova caratteristica di Serious Sam 3, perché è ancora troppo presto", ha affermato il boss di Croteam, Roman Ribaric.

"Tuttavia, credo che i fan di Serious Sam vorrebbero voler sentire le seguenti due cose. Primo, Serious Sam 3 si giocherà come l'originale Serious Sam. E secondo, ci lasceremo il look cartoon alle spalle".

Ribaric ha affermato che Croteam è completamente presa dallo sviluppo del gioco, che entrerà a pieno regime con l'uscita del remake Serious Sam HD su PC e Xbox Live Arcade e sul quale Ribaric lascia una porta aperta anche a PS3.

Serious Sam 3 non ha ancora una data e piattaforme d'uscita, anche se PC e Xbox debbono ritenersi ipoteticamente confermate.

Ricordo che Serious Sam HD utilizzerà il motore grafico Serious Engine 3, lo stesso che verrà utilizzato per Serious Sam 3...

mmmm rendere serio serious sam? e come vogliono allora manternere lo stesso gameplay se l'ambito stilistico che caratterizzava i precedenti si perde? ovvio na roba come il 2, difficilmente la ripeteranno spero, troppo kid style....ma la comicità deve esser almeno mantenuta p__p

Personalmente non me la sento di considerare il Fist encounter e il 2nd encounter giochi con grafica stile "look cartoon"...
Inoltre il boss di Croteam, Roman Ribaric ha detto chiaramente che SS3 si giocherà come l'originale Serious Sam ( quindi parliamo del fist/2nd) e che la grafica stile cartonesco sarà accantonata (parlando di SS2)
L'importante rimane il gameplayer; bisogna buttare nel cesso quello di SS2 e riprendere quello del Fist/2nd Encounder...

Si, verissimo! Nonostante volessi giocare SS2 alla fine non ci sono proprio riuscito, era troppo sotto ai capitoli precedenti.

Speriamo che ci diano dentro di brutto, così da avere un'altro capolavorozzo
