info per dhcp server

ciao
potete indirizzarmi su qualche guida online su come fare un dhcp server?
la macchina in questione (mandriva 06) fa già da file server con samba,
bastano 2 schede di rete?

ma i file di configurazione sono gli stessi...però mi sa che i servizi su mandriva si attivano e disattivano in modo diverso...(è passato troppo tempo e non me lo ricordo)

Ti consiglio di usare webmin per configurarlo sotto mandriva.
Con il gestore pacchetti, devi installare quindi dhcpd e webmin (se non è già installato).

scusami la domanda...mi spieghi il ragionamento per cui ti dovrebbe servire più di una scheda di rete? per fare da server dhcp te ne basta una poi se vuoi fare anche di firewall/ip forwarding te ne servono due (anche se non necessariamente)

Il dhcp server assegna alle macchine dhcp client un ip in automatico in base alla configurazione del server e quindi ti basta che il computer sia in lan e sia raggiungibile dai dhcp clients, stessa cosa vale anche per samba.

Se vuoi fare ipforwarding/firewall quella che in windows si chiama condivisione internet, ti servono due schede di rete, perché una è connessa con l'enterno ad internet e l'altra alla lan interna e il computer rigira/filtra il segnale internet alla lan interna

quindi.. credo di aver fatto tutto ma i client non prendono l'ip..
ho configurato il file dhcpd.con così:
ddns-update-style interim;
subnet 192.168.30.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {

option domain-name-servers 192.168.30.40;

option routers 192.168.30.40;
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;
range 192.168.30.200 192.168.30.250;
default-lease-time 3600;
max-lease-time 7200;

}

e quando lancio il servizio ottengo:
