installo driver ati e kde non si avvia più...

Dopo aver installato i driver ati per la mia radeon 9500 liscia (ho preso quelli x l'xfree86 4.3.0, avevo controllato e avevo sta versione) riavvio, e al riavvio successivo non viene eseguito l'autologin. Faccio il login da console e se lancio kde o startx ricevo errori.

Come posso fare?
Guardando il log di xfree86 mi pare di aver capito che sia proprio colpa dei driver... se volessi postare qui il log come faccio a copiarlo su una partizione fat32 da root?

E x ora sono a piedi con linux, datemi una mano plz

Ti ringrazio x l'aiuto ma ho risolto tutto eseguendo xf86config dalla console e ricostruendo la config; adesso non ho più nemmeno problemi con i tasti modificatori della tastiera (prima non funzionavano tutti in contemporanea).

Visto che mi sembri pratico di xf86, ti faccio una domanda che mi sembra pertinente ad esso: come monitor ho un acer al712, che non viene riconosciuto (il "colpevole" presumo sia sax2) e non compare nell'elenco.
Come driver uso "lcd 1280*1024 @75hz", ma l'unico refresh rate disponibile é 60hz; ho provato anche il "vesa 1280*1024 @75hz" ma il problema persiste

Hai qualche idea?
Io credo che dovrei impostare manualmente il pixel clock in xf86 visto che altrove non posso, ma cmq non so dove andare a parare

Puoi provare a editare il file in questo punto:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Miomonitor"
HorizSync 30-65
VertRefresh 50-75
Option "DPMS"

mettendo i giusti valori presi dal manuale.

ragazzi io ho un problema con una 9600xt sempre sotto linux.

prima avevo una 8500 e adava liscia come l'olio, ora x coi fglrx non parte, anzi crasha tutto il sistema.

di solito basta cancellare (o meglio commentare con un # ) la riga dov'è presente l'opzione use fbdev...

il problema era che dopo aver installato l rpm dell ati all riavvio nn partiva piu kde.(stessi errori di karplus).ho lanciato xf86config da root ed è partito il wizard per la conf: ho dato tutti paramentri generici pe ril monitor sono stato basso(640x480 20mhz)alla fine ha provato a scrivere il file config ma nn riusciva..in \etc\x11 ho creato a mano il file,ho riavviato xf86config ,ha sovrascritto il file e con startx è partito.
Il prob è che al riavvio dava lo stesso problema ho rimosso l rpm di ati fatto un po di aggiornamenti vari e ora va da paura
PS vendo la scheda ati perche m ha rotto nn poter usare il doppio 19"
