Come installare raid su Suse 9.1

HO un grosso problema, ma credo risolvibile.
Ho un controller raid modello multiraid100 con chip aralion di cui ho potuto scaricare i driver open ma, non ho trovato alcuna guida per la loro installazione.
Qualcuno ha idea di come mi posso muovere?
Nella cartella per i driver ci sono 7 file

1)atapi.h
2)Makefile
3)scsi_module.c
4)scsi_obsolete.h
5)ultima.c
6)ultima.h
7)ultima.o

I driver sono dati per il kernel 2.4.XX, mentre io ho il 2.6.5.

Attualmente la scheda viene rilevata, nel senso che il kernel l'ha trovata, ma non funziona.

Prima d tutto t dico subito ke molto probabilmente quei driver nn andranno visto ke sono stati scritti x kernel 2.4.x

Ad ogni modo TU devi compilare i driver e d solito si fa con 1 make

se alla fine del make ottieni un fil .o oltre avere 1 bel cu1@ puoi provare a fare insmod "nome.o"

prova anke a leggere dentro il file makefile cosa c'è scritto....

Io a questo punto penserei che la soluzione stia nel cambiare il contenuto dei file di driver.
Se quaòcuno mi aiuta ci facciamo un tentativo e poi famo un HOW-To per quei proveri disgraziati di filopinguini come me che hanno acquistato questa scheda e se la sonopresa in C**O.

Proposta 1:
Penso che devo cambiare il Makefile ovvero al posto di indicare il kernel 2.4 dovrei inserire il 2.6.XX.
Via si aprono le porte per la collaborazione

Scusate, forse ho formulato male la domanda, a me interesserebbe anche solo avere delel indicazioni per sapere come reperire informazioni per risolvere il problema.
Leggo sempre tanta denigrazione per i driver closed ed elogio al formato open perchè permettono il libero contributo della community.
Io sono nella cacca , sapete dove poter reperire informazioni aiuti per installare i driver e poter accedere al resto dei miei dati?

Si ho trovato solo gente INCXXXXXXXtisssima per il mio stesso problema, abbiamo i driver per red hat con kernel 2.4 oppure quelli open per 2.4 poi ci attacchiamo
Ho postato l'enensima richiesta sul sito www.aralion.com (produttore del chip) che dichiara che non è nei loro piani creare nuovi driver per linux per quella scheda (MA VAFFANCXXX!!)

Nn basta cambiare un path da 2.4 a 2.6 x avere i driver per i kernel 2.6.x altrimenti quelli d aralion l'avrebbero fatto subito, penso... Rilasciare i drivers x 2.6 vuole dire riscrivere i driver x quella data famiglia...

Quindi o usi un kernel 2.4.x e provi i driver open OPPURE cerki se in internet qlc è riuscito ad adattare i driver o a fare qlc x farli andare lo stesso....

Cmq prova a lanciare quel benedetto comando MAKE ke mica t "formatta" la macchina

Al peggio t darà 1 errore ^_^

Azz non me lo dire vero? già stai tentando di insegnarmi col famoso detto "sbagliando si impara".
Io. le avevo decompresse nella cartella /homeraid poi da li le ho copiate in usr/src/raid
ho creato la cartella raid sotto usr/src altrimenti mi perdo i file.
MO comunque pertagliare la testa al toro decomprimo li e poi ripeto tutti i suggerimenti.
