MSI 845G MAX Reviewed

Su HardOcp è stata recensita la scheda madre 845G MAX di MSI, basata, come si può intuire dal nome, sul chipset 845G di Intel e dotata di una GPU integrata.

Elenchiamo di seguito le caratteristiche della motherboard:

I test prestazionali sono stati condotti montando sulla scheda madre un processore Pentium 4 2.4B, una scheda video GeForce4 Ti4600 128MB (28.32 Drivers), due moduli Corsair da 256MB XMS3000 DDR SDRAM, un HD Maxtor 40GB ATA/133 7200RPM e utilizzando il s.o. Windows XP Professional con DirectX 8.1 e Intel Chipset Driver version 4.00.1009.

A parità di componenti installati, la scheda madre di MSI è stata confrontata con una ABIT IT7 e con una Soyo P4S Dragon Ultra / SiS 645:

Dal punto di vista grafico, utilizzando la GPU integrata, la scheda non è certo tra le più brillanti, tuttavia le prestazioni generali sono di tutto rispetto:

"I was going to make some graphs comparing the performance between this chip and some other video cards in a few games, but the performance was so dismal I did not want to bore you with them. Default 3DMark2001SE score is 1534 3DMarks. Quake 3 1.17 using Q3Bench at Max settings and 1024x768 pulled in 22.7 FPS. The only two playable resolutions in Quake3 where 640x480 at 53.1 FPS and 800x600 at 37.1 FPS.

The 845 Max offers a solid integrated feature set that will not get in the enthusiast's way allowing for the true tweaker side to show off a bit with solid performance. The 845 Max certainly deserves your attention if you are in the market for a P4 533MHz bus DDR motherboard on a budget. Another good job by MSI."
