Mouse usb su ubuntu

Salve a tutti. Ho di recente installato l'ultima versione di ubuntu (la 7.04) sul mio portatile e non mi funziona il mouse usb (mentre il touchpad funziona perfettamente). Ho cercato ovunque sul web e non sono riuscito a venirne a capo. Ecco la parte del mio /etc/X11/xorg.conf relativa agli input devices:

In primis, prova a commentare tutte le sezioni relative ai wacom, che per lo più creano problemi.

Teoricamente non dovrebbero interferire, e quindi il mouse dovrebbe funzionare senza problemi.

Inoltre, allega se puoi il tuo /var/log/messages.
Per leggerlo devi essere root, però, quindi usa sudo.

Commentando wacom non ho risolto nulla, anzi non mi è partito più il server X e ho dovuto ripristinare il file precedente...
Incollo l'inizio del file /var/log/messages, cioè la parte relativa all'installazione di ubuntu. Il file intero è troppo lungo e non me lo fa nè incollare nè allegare. Io non sono riuscito a interpretarlo, non essendo ancora abbastanza pratico di linux...
