(Nasdaq: TDFX - news) today announced that worldwide volume shipments have begun for the company's new Voodoo4(TM) 4500 AGP and Voodoo4 4500 PCI 3D graphics accelerators. The arrival of these products on retail shelves is imminent, with availability of new computer systems equipped with the 4500 products to follow shortly thereafter.

Voodoo4 4500 is the latest product in the Voodoo graphics accelerator family to offer 3dfx's superior full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA) for mainstream computer users. FSAA is a leading-edge 3D graphics rendering breakthrough that eliminates visual artifacts such as jagged edges, moire patterns and pixel popping, rendering problems commonly seen on competitive products. The result of utilizing the Voodoo FSAA technology is a much more realistic 3D-rendered image. Voodoo4 4500 combines outstanding raw performance with superior visual realism across a multitude of titles.
