In less than two months, we are glad to announce another big, even more powerful, SabayonLinux release. Three.point.two version brings to your Computer the most advanced and cutting edge Linux software available nowadays. If you don't want to scroll down the whole ChangeLog, you should at least read what happened during the last month over here.

Keeping our "out-of-the-box" way of thinking, these are the major improvements:


* Massively reduced boot time thanks to the integration of UnionFS and the parallelization of some time consuming boot tasks.

Before running them, be sure to read their license and agree with that, otherwise, just remove those applications. To run SabayonLinux without Proprietary drivers, just use "noproprietary" boot flag.
* Reiser4 is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. This will be reaccessed at a later time.

UPGRADE INFO:
Using this feature, you can upgrade any Gentoo-based installation (Gentoo, VLOS, RR4, RR64) to the latest SabayonLinux without losing your personal data and settings. Our Team, however, will only actively support the upgrades using SabayonLinux as base. But be aware, to avoid system inconsistencies, the Updater, for now, removes every package (installed using Portage) that is not available on the DVD.
For example, if you have installed the package vmware-server using Kuroo or using Portage directly, this will be removed and needs to be manually re-installed by you. But don't worry, Portage never removes the settings of your applications.
By the way, for who doesn't care about that, I'd like to explain two major features of this amazing piece of Python code:


* You can fix your current installation by choosing to reinstall every package, This will take a lot of time but will resurrect your SabayonLinux installation in cases of hard damaging.
* You could (even if it's not so much tested) even upgrade your 32bit installation to a powerful 64bit one (but not the contrary) by using the function described above.
* You can re-configure/reinstall your GRUB (Boot) settings/ without touching any configuration file and/or command line.

a me non spiace il mega dvd "tuttodentro" ...
volendo, la "mini" su CD da 700MB è abbastanza "magra".

certo, anche una "micro" su mini CD da 200 MB con xfce non sarebbe male, ma mi sa che non è nei progetti futuri.


del resto sabayon ha ragion d'essere grazie alla "live" e al "click e installa gentoo finchè navighi il web e ascoldi musica "...

Mah...sempre solita storia...boot lentissimo, da live non ha utilità perchè lentissima, da installata è pesante come pochi e va ricompilata, per me molte cose dovrebbero sparire...

io sulla precedente release non ho visto granchè miglioramenti ricompilandola per amd x2 ... ma stavo usando la versione x86-64 che è decisamente più performante della x386.

bhò il 3d aiglx nvidia e gli effetti son fluidissimi, ma le applicazioni partono in tempi mastodontici... il boot poi è estenuante (anche quattro minuti ...)

BELLISSSIMA l'utility per disattivare/attivare o meno aiglx piuttosto che XGL a sistema installato...
tutto con un click .... molto comodo.




comunque secondo me per un utente evoluto come te è più indicata la gentoo normale che te la fai come vuoi tu.

Mi piacerebbe installarla anche a me come versione "stabile" nel senso che, visto i tempi di aggiornamento e avendo io un portatile, la vorrei installare per tenerla così com'è, ma ho un problema; ho solo una partizione da 4,5 GB liberi (lo swap ce l'ho di già)! La versione dvd non entrera mai vero? L'ultima volta mi sembra avesse preso 7,5GB... La versione cd non voglio metterla perchè in inglese e non ho voglia di lasciare il pc acceso per 8 ore ad installare il pacchetto italiano...

il sistema ha acquisito molta più velocità e fluidità senza che io settassi nulla;
avrà indicizzato i files??? bho"??
il boot ora è tornato su tempi umani (un minuto e 15")








comunque ora m'è saltata la configurazione della rete ethernet-adsl e non riesco a riconfigurarla






mi sa che faccio un bel reinstallone.

ho cercato di far partire la live. Il boot parte ma si ferma a questo puunto :Waiting for OpneGL Configurator to finish...Done" e non succede più nulla. Ho aspettato qualche minuto ed ho rinunciato. Devo forse aspettare di più? oppure devo usare una qualche opzione al boot? se si quale? ora provo noapic....

poi dipende ... sicuramente se hai un AMD 64 e ci installi non la versione a 64, ma quella a 32 bit ... bhè in questo caso dalla ricompilazione della 32 bit le prestazioni ne guadagnano sicuramente...

Processore Intel P4 2.5 ghz 3*512 MB RAM partizione da 20 o 30 GB.
La notizia che non è indispensabile la ricompilazione mi rende assai felice.

L'hai tentua in inglese o te la sei messa in italiano.
