Microsoft Habu Driver/Firmware v2.01 Release log: 1. Fixed bug where mouse was stuck at the 125hz polling rate NOTE: PLEASE READ THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE DRIVERS. The firmware update and new software driver enable the 32 KB onboard memory feature on your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse. If this feature is not needed, no updates are required. Firmware Installation Instructions 1. Plug in your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse to a USB port on your computer. Important You must use the same USB port during the following updates. 2. Complete this step if this is your first install with this mouse, otherwise skip to step (3). Run the software driver Setup program from the enclosed Habu software driver CD. Restart your computer if prompted. 3. Download the latest firmware and software driver updates from the appropriate language download link below, and then save the .zip file to your hard drive. 4. Extract the downloaded .zip file, which contains a folder with both the firmware and software driver updates, to a location on your hard drive. 5. Before you install any updates, close all running software programs and make sure that your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse is plugged in and working. Important The Windows Found New Hardware Wizard may appear during the firmware update. You must complete this Wizard within a few seconds or else this firmware update will fail. Be prepared to use a second mouse or your keyboard (such as TAB, ENTER, and arrow keys) to step through this Wizard. 6. Double-click Update.exe from the Firmware folder that was downloaded and unzipped. Do not use your computer until the firmware update is complete. 7. If you have already installed the software driver from your Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse packaging, skip to step 8. -or- If you have not previously installed the software driver for Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse, do the following: 1. When prompted to install the Freescale USB JW32 ICP Device, select Yes, this time only, select Next, and then select Next at the following screen. 2. If the dialog box showing that the software has not passed Windows Logo testing displays, select Continue Anyway. The Update dialog box will show that the firmware update failed. Continue with the next step to update the firmware. 3. Unplug the Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it in to the same USB port. 4. Run Update.exe a second time from the firmware folder that was downloaded and unzipped. Do not use your computer until the firmware update is complete. Proceed to step 8. 8. Important When the firmware update is complete, unplug the Habu Laser Gaming Mouse and then plug it in to the same USB port again so that your computer can recognize the new firmware information. Your Habu Laser Gaming Mouse will not work until you have done this, and you won’t be able to close the completed firmware update dialog box. Software Driver Installation Instructions (required if firmware is updated) If you have not previously installed the software driver for Microsoft Habu Laser Gaming Mouse, you can skip to step 3. Steps 1 and 2 remove any previous version of the Habu software driver, which is required for this update. 1. Start the Habu software driver update by running Setup.exe from the Software folder that you downloaded and unzipped. This will remove any previous version of the Habu Software Driver. 2. When asked to Confirm Uninstall select OK. Restart your computer if prompted. 3. Install the Habu software driver update by running Setup.exe from the Software folder that you downloaded and unzipped, and then follow the screen prompts. This will install the new software version. When prompted with the dialog box showing this software has not passed Window Logo testing, select Continue Anyway. Restart your computer if prompted.
