Kmail configurazione......help

Ci risiamo non devo che ricorre alla comunità..
Ho configurato kmail ma purtroppo riesco solo a scaricare.
Quando tento di inviare mi da il solito:
" Spedizione fallita:
Impossibile connettersi all'host out.alice.it.
Il messaggio resterà nella cartella "posta in uscita" finché non risolverai il problema (es. indirizzo sbagliato) oppure fin quando non lo rimuoverai dalla cartella "posta in uscita".
È stato utilizzato il seguente protocollo di trasporto:

Ho provato anche a disattivare guarddog ma niente da fare.
Ho provato a configurare anche con un nuovo account (per la precisione GMAIL).
Anche qui riesco a scaricare ma non ad inviare.
Ho letto diversi post ma non riesco a risolvere il problema..
Potrebbe forse essere un problema di porte.

Se da shell digiti 'telnet out.alice.it 25' ci arrivi o la connessione fallisce?

Io mi collego a tutti e due i server in telnet anche se non uso Telecom Italia per connettermi a internet.
E' un problema o del pc o di qualcosa che sta fra il pc e i server telecom (un router che fa da firewall?)
Da shell prova a digitare, come root:
iptables -L -v --line-numbers
e postami l'output.

Ma che razza di configurazione e'? Neanche se fosse un firewall aziendale... Se te l'ha fatta guarddog questo e' un motivo in piu' per buttare dalla finestra questi strumenti automatici.

Comunque, prova a digitare questo, tutto da root:

iptables -F
iptables -X
iptables -P INPUT DROP
iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
iptables -P FORWARD DROP
iptables -I INPUT 1 -i lo -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT 2 -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

a questo punto riprova il telnet.

Poi... altra cosa, se provi a collegarti a qualsiasi altro server SMTP ci arrivi oppure la connessione e' sempre resettata? Esempio libero, tiscali,...

Per mandare e-mail ti devi collegare al server SMTP del provider con cui ti colleghi a internet.
