Overloccare un Pentium3 550 aria

Ciao,

sono un novizio e in attesa di cambiare mobo e proc,vorrei overloccare
il mio pentium 3 550 (katmai ;().Ho una mobo che mi permette di settare il moltiplicatore,ma il processore sembra bloccato.COme lo sblocco,grazie.

I pentium 3 non si sbloccano... l'unico modo è agire sul bus di sistema.
Ora dovresti stare a 550(5.5 * 100). Per rimanere con i componenti in specifica dovresti portare il FSB(front side bus), se la MoBo te lo permette, a 133 Mhz ed arriveresti ad una frequenza di 732 Mhz per la CPU. Sarebbe già un ottimo risultato.

Lo sospettavo

Comunque come mobo ho una vecchia soyo sba-3,chipset via 4 in 1,
e opzioni per variare l'fsb non ci sono proprio...anche perchè risale al
'98..Pensavo di aumentare però il vcore a 2.8 agendo sul processore,
ho provato a coprire i pin 120,119,118 come mi hanno consigliato ma ho un dubbio:
Ho travisato la parola coprire o faccio male le operazioni..
oppure è una cavolata...??

Guarda sul manuale della scheda mamma. Dovrebbero esserci dei jumpers che ti consentono di modificare il Front Side Bus.
Cosa overvolti a fare se prima non overclokki?

1- Alza il FSB
2- Raffredda molto bene la CPU
3- Se il sistema non è stabile overvolti un po'

comunque se metto l'fsb al massimo poi cosa posso fare di più..?

Puoi provare ad impostare settaggi più spinti per la tua RAM. Nel tuo caso dovrebbe essere, da BIOS, la voce SDRAM CAS LATENCY. Tanto più è bassa, tanto più saranno maggiori le prestazioni.
E poi potresti overcloccare la scheda video.

Si,ci proverò al prossimo reboot,ma non mi spiego che lo fsb
lo posso portare solo a 100mhz,almeno dal bios non mi dà di più..

Si,ho già provato ma purtroppo...
Considera che sul manuale spiega chiaramente,inoltre,che la mobo è JUMPER less..infatti io non vedo quasi nessun jumper,per questo pensavo almeno all'overvolting

Se non puoi alzare la frequenza di bus è inutile overvoltare.
L'overvolt non incrementa le prestazioni... è solo un modo per rendere più stabili sistemi overcloccati.
In più se overvolti sale la temperatura della CPU.

Step 4. CPU multiplier release Jumper: (JP8)
Closing JP8 can make higher multiplier settings available on some INTEL CPUs. For
technical details read the following:
Your Pentium CPU has an input pin B21 (100/66# signal) to tell it at what Front Side Bus
(FSB) Frequency it is running; JP8 is connected to this input pin. The actual FSB Frequency
is however set through the BIOS and it may therefore differ from the Frequency specified to
the CPU through JP8.
Because some INTEL CPUs have their multipliers limited at a FSB Frequency of 100MHz
and higher, telling the CPU that it is running at 66MHz though JP8 while setting a different
(higher) FSB Frequency in the BIOS may allow the user to set a higher multiplier value.
Doing so will however force your CPU to operate out of its specifications, and therefore
SOYO can not guarantee the proper functioning of your system.

Note: Shorting the jumper will tell the CPU that it is running on 66MHz, this will release more

Questo jumper sembrerebbe riferirsi al moltiplicatore, che è bloccato e quindi non si può fare niente.
Dovresti cercare qualche jumper che nella descrizione contiene la parola FSB.

Note on Over-clocking Capability
The SY-6BA+III provides over-clocking capability. Due to the over-clocking setting your
system may fail to boot up or hang during run time. Please perform the following steps to
recover your system from the abnormal situation :
1. Turn off system power (If you use an ATX power supply, and depending on your system,
you may have to press the power button for more than 4 seconds to shut down the
system.)
2. Set the JP8 to short if you use a FSB 66MHz CPU
3. Press and hold down the <Insert> key while turning on the system power. Keep holding
down the <Insert> key until you see the message of the CPU type and frequency shown
on the screen.
4. Press the <Del> key during the system diagnostic checks to enter the Award BIOS Setup
program.
5. Select [SOYO COMBO SETUP] and move the cursor to the [CPU Frequency] field to set
the proper working frequency.
6. Select [Save & Exit SETUP] and press <Enter> to save the new configuration to the
CMOS memory, and continue the boot sequence.
Note: SOYO does not guarantee system stability if the user over clocks the system.
Any malfunctions due to over-clocking are not covered by the warranty.

Vorrei dirgli,ma che cazz mi overlocco se non mi fornite un opzione o un jumper,ahh..

vedi magare se c'è una opzione per impostare la frequenza da passare da AUTO a MANUAL in moda da attivare l'impostazione manuale del fsb

Ok,forse avevo visto qualcosa nel bios ma per non riavviare vado a cercarmi un soft x leggere i bios award e vi faccio sapere..

Poi ci sono dei certi PM Events per l'hard disk & company..

ho scaricato il manuale della tua scheda madre e quello che ti serve dovrebbe stare in "soyo setup"

beh o sono io che sono scemo..ma in soyo setup c'p solo l'opzione x 66 mhz e 100 mhz,cazz..
Ho provato pure col jumper ma per l'fsb non riesco veramente a capire come fare..nel bios non c'è veramente..
