I test sono stati eseguiti con i seguenti criteri:

  • l'hard disk è stato formattato e su di esso è stato installato Windows 2000, patchato con Service Pack e tutti gli ultimi fix disponibili al momento dei test; sono stati caricati solo i driver necessari al corretto funzionamento del sistema operativo;

  • ogni benchmark è stato eseguito per almeno 2 volte, prendendo come valore riferimento quello medio; se i risultati ottenuti sono parsi inattendibili o eccessivamente diversi tra di loro si è provveduto a rieffettuare i benchmark fino ad un massimo di 5 volte;

  • al termine di ogni esecuzione dei benchmark il sistema è stato riavviato e l'hard disk deframmentato utilizzando il software Defrag contenuto in Windows 2000.
