Chipset AMD 790FX anche per DFI

Nel corso del mese di Dicembre 2007 abbiamo recensito, a questo indirizzo, una delle prime schede madri disponibili in commercio ad essere basate su chipset AMD 790FX: parliamo della scheda madre Sapphire Pure CrossfireX 790FX, soluzione proposta agli utenti enthusiast all'interno di piattaforme Spider di AMD.

In quella occasione abbiamo evidenziato come quella scheda riprendesse in modo identico il design della scheda madre Socket AM2+ sviluppata da DFI, giungendo sino ad incorporare sul PCB una serigrafia LanParty chiaro indizio di come DFI fosse direttamente coinvolta nella produzione di questa scheda.

DFI ha ufficialmente presenytato la propria scheda madre LANParty DK 790FX-M2RS, modello che viene proposto quale soluzione top di gamma per processori AMD Socket AM2+, comprese quindi le soluzioni quad core Phenom, dotata di chipset AMD 790FX abbinato al south bridge SB600. Osservando le immagini della scheda DFI a confronto con quella Sapphire emergono alcune differenti scelte, non tanto dal versante cromatico quanto da quello del layout di alcuni componenti.

La disposizione degli Slot è speculare tra le due schede madri, mentre scelte differenti sono state fatte per la circuiteria di alimentazione della soluzione DFI che rimane sempre di tipo digitale come implementato anche per la scheda Sapphire ma con una differente disposizione dei condensatori in prossimità del Socket del processore.

Anche il sistema di raffreddamento varia nella proposta LANParty DK 790FX-M2RS, in quanto i dissipatori non sono più collegati tra di loro attraverso una heatpipe. Ne consegue anche un differente posizionamento delle porte di collegamento posteriori, grazie alla superiore superficie lasciata a disposizione dal design implementato per la scheda DFI.

AMD 790FX + SB600: After the merged of ATI, 790FX is an “enthusiast-oriented” high-end chipset of AMD. In addition to the excellent OC performance of 790FX, it also provides hard-core gamers the ultra-realistic gaming experience with the latest CrossFireX technology. Aside from this, it is noteworthy that the power consumption of 790FX is relatively lower than others in the market.

DDR2 1066: The system works compatible with DDR2 800 and 1066. It works in DDR2 1066MHz only if Phenom CPU is in use.
