DFI CD70 - Via Apollo Pro266 DDR
Con la seguente press release DFI
ha annunciato la disponibilità della scheda madre CD70, basata sul chipset VIA Apollo Pro266 DDR chipset
e dotata di interfaccia Socket 370 per processori Intel Pentium III Coppermine FC-PGA:
DFI leads the industry by introducing CD70 motherboard adopting VIA Apollo Pro266 DDR chipset Taipei, November 15th, 2000
DFI announces its first model of the DDR memory motherboard - CD70.
The new DDR (Double Data Rate) memory has been considered as the best successor of the PC133. Promoted by major chipset manufacturers, DDR memory expedites a great effect in the motherboard manufacturing field and on the retail market. DFI, the professional motherboard manufacturer with sales all over the world, launches its first model of DDR motherboard CD70 that supports Socket 370 processors in November.
The motherboard with the best expandability.
DFI CD70 motherboard adopts VIA Pro266/VT8233 chipset based on ATX form factor. It supports Socket370 architecture for Intel’s Pentium Ⅲ, Celeron, and Via CyrixⅢ processors, with a total of 3 built-in 184-pin DDR memory slots; the main memory can be expanded up to a maximum of 3GB. Meanwhile, it supports both 200MHz and 266MHz DDR SDRAM. The expansion function of the CD70 motherboard, including a 4x AGP, 6 PCI, 1 CNR (Communication Network Riser) expansion slots, and 6 sets of USB ports, offers the best expansibility.
High-level interface (DDR memory, ATA/100, and V-Link) supportive
DFI CD70 is an extremely high-performance product that supports the DDR266 memory interface, the V-Link bus, and the built-in ATA/100 high-speed transmission interface with the advanced function of data transmission rate as fast as 100MB per second. As such features significantly enhance the performance of CD70, either distributors or DIY users can take advantage of these new functions to maximize the system performance and meet their demands of high-speed performance.
V-Link bus brings I/O data transmission function into full play
Among numerous DDR memory chipsets such as Via Pro266, AMD 266, and SiS 635, etc., Via Apollo Pro266 chipsets is the first one that adapts the new generation of high-speed transmission V-Link bus. The V-Link bus technology expands the bandwidth between the north bridge and the south bridge to 266MB per second, doubles the bandwidth between the traditional north and south bridge chipsets, and overcomes the limited bandwidth collocating fast CPU and DDR memory resulting in insufficient transmission. Such high performance and wide bandwidth of the V-Link bus significantly enhance the I/O data transmission performance, and more particularly it works the best for the audio/video signal transmission.
All-In-One, User Friendly Design
CD70 includes a built-in AC’97 codec onboard to support audio application function. Users can plug a CNR interfaced sound card to the existing CNR expansion slot and upgrade the computer system to a six-channel sound output, or optionally purchase a CNR interfaced modem or network card such as Home PNA or 10/100 Ethernet connection, etc., to enable network functions. It substantially saves a great deal of money, as well as satisfies the needs with various choices. In addition to providing a series of the newest interfaces, DFI also offers you a perfectly safe protection and solution as follows:
1. Flash-ROM Protection - for protecting the BIOS from being intruded by the latent bug existing in computer systems, that causes computer in disorder.
2. Specially aiming at the demand of frequency adjustment, DFI adds the multiplier feature into its design. The multiplier option enhances the CD70 frequency to be configured through the BIOS. As for the DIY users, it offers an additional way to selectively increase the frequency and hence gives a better chance of unveiling the potential of the CPU.
It is worthy to possess the latest CD70 motherboard DFI always emphasizes on the superiority and reliability of its product; and the new-generation model of CD70 motherboard supporting the DDR memory is the best solution for users to enhance system performance, and definitely a worthy new product for you to possess.
