Ace's Hardware ha pubblicato alcuni benchmarks di un sistema Pentium IV, utilizzando memorie Rambus Single Channel anzichè Dual Channel, con bandwidth quindi dimezzata. Da tali bench si note la forte dipendenza delle prestazioni del PIV dalle memorie Rambus Dual Channel, con un decremento prestazionale da 137fps a 106fps in Quake3 e da 57,8fps a 31fps nella mappa NV15DEMO. More real-world results, however, indicate that they are indeed influenced by the memory interface. Both the Business and High-End version of WinStone (99 and 2001) fell by about 24%. More sensitive components dropped even more, however, with Visual C++ falling 36%, from 9.98 to 6.37. While most applications were affected, as I mentioned before, some saw no impact at all. 3D Studio Max was another of those applications in which the memory interface played no definitive role in its performance.

As perhaps the most visible real-world application in which the Pentium 4 has excelled, Quake 3 is also one of the benchmarks hit hardest by the halving of the i850's memory bandwidth. Performance dropped from 137.5 fps to 106.5 fps, while in a more intensive test using the NV15DEMO, the reduction was nearly a full 50%. Using NV15DEMO, frame rates fell from 57.8 fps down to 31.1 fps.
