GamePC ha pubblicato una prova comparativa fre due cpu Athlon 700Mhz (classic e Thunderbird) provate su 3 diversi chipset, quali AMD 750, VIA KX133 e KT133; trovate l'articolo a questo indirizzo

For future upgradability, the KT133-based products are the obvious choice. We've all had a lot of fun with the A7V and the clock multiplier DIP switches, which allow users to override the default CPU multiplier. If you currently own an Athlon system and are looking to upgrade, make sure you check the chipset on your current motherboard. If you own a board with the AMD 750 chipset (or AMD 751 "Northbridge"), go ahead and try to find the Thunderbird Athlon of your choice. KX133 owners should be a little more cautious. Check the motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS upgrade and make sure it or one of the previous upgrades includes Thunderbird support.

If you want to move to the KT133/Socket A platform but are price conscious, consider the new AMD Duron processor (the value companion to the Athlon). While the price difference at 700 MHz is minimal (~$20 as of this writing), a 600 MHz Duron can be found for significantly less. Durons have 64 kB of L2 cache instead of 256 KB. This imposes some performance hit, but it more than acceptable for most computer users.
