Cmq dalle caratteristiche questa scheda dovrebbe essere un 30-50% più veloce della nostra super scheda?????? se così fosse sarebbe ottimo.... e magari chissà come si tireranno in overclock.... sperem

allora sarebbe un cesso visto che le 3850 ormai doppiano la 8600gts....

le 9600gts come minimo devono andare il 100% + veloci della vecchia 8600gts...

inoltre il prezzo della 9600gts da 512mb dovrebbe essere uguale alla 8800gt da 256mb (a febbraio max 150-160euro) almeno secondo me quindi a risoluzioni medio-basse cioè fino a 1280x1024 e 1440x900 converebbe la 8800gt da 256mb...inoltre appena uscita la 3850 era(ed è...tranne la peak che si trova già a 125euro ) a 150euro ma ati per le nuove schede (3850-3870 ha dato un taglio di listino di 20dollari-euro che qui ancora non hanno applicato...)

tra 2 mesi all'uscita delle 9600gts è probabile che ati faccia un'ulteriore taglio----> ati ultimamente punta sul rapporto qualità-prezzo e la fascia media-medio alta perchè ormai per la fascia alta e ESTREMA nvidia domina

guarda non voglio fare polemica ma nello scenario per il quale è stata concepita la 8600gts(che ricordo è fascia media e forse ora pure mediobassa)ovvero i classici 1280x1024 le cose non stanno come dici tu.

ovviamente si sta parlando del doppio(e a carattere generale) non di certo che la 3850 sia ben superiore alla 8600gts che è fuor di dubbio.

For some reason, the web-site that reports about the new product, which it names G98/D9P, uses a slide from Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT presentation with chips carrying old Nvidia Corp.’s logotype to reaffirm credibility of the news-story.

Some other reports suggest that Nvidia prepares to release its Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS graphics card for mainstream market in early 2008 to compete in the mainstream segment of graphics adapters. The rumoured product is projected to be based on the code-named G92 chip with 96 unified shader processors, sport 192-bit memory bus and carry 384MB of memory onboard.

Yet another story reads that Nvidia develops yet another dual-chip graphics card, which is projected to be called GeForce 9800 GX2 and carry D9E code-name. The product is also expected to be formally announced in mid-February and re-enable support of 4-way SLI (quad SLI) technology.

In fact, D9M, D9P and D9E are not code-names of exact chips, but represent 9th generation solutions for mainstream (M), performance (P) and enthusiast (E) desktop (D) markets.

Reports Contradict Each Other
While those reports are read separately, some may even consider them as correct, however, when compiled, the rumours seem to contradict each other.

Earlier this year it was reported, based on unofficial sources as well, that Nvidia aims to begin transition to a DirectX 10.1-compatible GeForce 9 architecture with a high-end product sometime in February ‘08, while mainstream offerings will be available at a later date, sometime in Summer.

Perhaps, Nvidia is on track to release single-chip GeForce 9600 GT for $150 - $200 market as well as single-chip and dual-chip GeForce 9800 graphics cards that fit into $400 - $650 price-range in February. But in that case there would be no sense to release GeForce 8800 GS product, as currently available offerings would fulfill the needs of mainstream customers.

It should be noted that it hardly makes sense to release only GeForce 9600 GT with DirectX 10.1, as it will inevitably cause confusion of customers and slowdown of GeForce 8800- and GeForce 8600-series graphics cards sales.

What makes sense for Nvidia to do early next year is to update the high-end lineup of its products with something that could be useful for current owners of the GeForce 8800 GTX or Ultra graphics boards. Maybe it will be GeForce 9800 GX2 that supports DirectX 10.1 along with a single-chip high-end product, but, in fact, a dual-chip GeForce 8800 GX2 based on a pair of G92 chips with only DirectX 10 support, will also attract a lot of interest of performance enthusiasts.

ovviamente si sta parlando del doppio(e a carattere generale) non di certo che la 3850 sia ben superiore alla 8600gts che è fuor di dubbio.

a 1280x1024 con filtri attivi non viene neanche considerata la 8600gts....mentre la 3850 sta oltre 40frame...

un ottimo riassunto della situazione rumors, che però in sostanza riporta la forte confusione (mi sà voluta) che ancora regna sui prossimi passi di Nvidia con rumors fortemente contradditori fra loro....aspettiamo ancora e vediamo, io per ora nel mio piccolo la vedo così:

1)prima la nuova 9600gt/gts per competere nella fascia bassa e media con 3850/3870, con supporto dx10.1 (quanto vale questo a questi livelli di potenza lo immaginiamo, cmq) / 8800gs basata sull'attuale g92 "fregandosene" delle dx10.1 ritenute "premature", sempre per competere nella fascia di prezzo della 3850;

2)subito dopo dual gpu basata sulle nuove gpu "serie 9"/oppure su g92 (per i motivi detti) per competere con r680 nelle fasce di prestazioni e di prezzo superiori;

3)nuova top "classica" più in là, quando esordirà r700 o quasi (resta da vedere quando questo vedrà la luce).

Già a gennaio questa matassa (che in sostanza secondo me riguarda la scelta se far debuttare le nuove gpu con dx10.1 oppure no, e la scelta se far debuttare adesso la nuova top classica oppure "accontentarsi" per ora di rispondere a r680 con una dual e rimandare la nuova top di qualche mese) sarà più sbrogliata, imho
