cmq, secondo quanto riporta Eurogamer la durata della batteria si attesterebbe tra le 4 e le 5 ore di gioco, nonostante l’intenzione iniziale di Sony di rientrare nell’intervallo tra le sei e le otto ore.

Quoto 299 come prezzo iniziale alle fine ci sta, chiaro io non la prendo subito, anche se resistere di giocare ad uncharted sarà difficile.

a me se mi piazzano tutti i migliori giochi ps3 e i brand storici sarà tosta resistere...sparato su un 30 pollici sgranato e slavato un gioco console non lo sopporto ma su un 5 pollici già va meglio

Andrew House: This beautiful new device sits very much at the top end of that segmentation. I think it's a statement of leadership, that we think there is huge potential for dedicated portable game devices with the right set of cutting-edge features. And we've gone all out – in terms of a fantastic screen and viewing area which is core to any premium game experience.

One of the learnings that we took from PSP is that consumers are not satisfied with taking a conventional console experience and merely putting it onto a portable device. There has to be a range of features that fit that portable experience. Hence incorporating GPS for location-based services and game experiences. Connectivity is obviously crucial for a new and upcoming generation of gamers who want social connectivity as much as they want a dedicated game experience.

Andrew House: So the user gets a choice. Wi-fi is available wherever, which clearly is the most important aspect of connectivity and that connected experience; 3G will be a subset of that.


Eurogamer: That was my next question – what are you going to do to stop people simply porting games across to it? If it's that powerful that you could bring a PS3 game across quite easily...

Andrew House: To be honest, the publishers that I've spoken to have generally indicated that they don't think that that's satisfactory for the consumer. To try and ask the consumer just to re-purchase an existing console experience – I don't think we or they feel that is really going to be the correct strategy.

Where I think it does become really interesting is if publishers, including ourselves, start to think of franchises more holistically. So, here's Uncharted; here's the dedicated PS3 experience and that's what this needs to be; here's a network aspect to Uncharted and that's what that needs to be; and here's the portable offshoot or adjunct to that, and here's what that needs to be. But they're all working together to enhance a franchise.

We were delighted that Philip [Earl, Activision suit] was able to be with us today and to stake a commitment that they've already seen that opportunity for Call of Duty and taking an extension of the most powerful-selling franchise around right now.

"NGP adopts a new game medium, a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles," a Sony press release later confirmed. "Taking advantage of the flash memory feature, this innovative card can store the full software titles plus add-on game content or the game save data directly on to the card. By adopting flash memory based card, SCE will be able to provide game cards with higher capacity in the future, allowing developers to store more game data to deliver rich and immersive games."

But where will users store non-game data? The NPG's LiveArea UI suggests that multimedia applications will be integral to the handheld, and many of these apps will obviously require data storage -- not to mention the storage requirements for downloadable games. While Sony has not mentioned an internal flash memory component of the NGP, SCE Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida revealed to Game Informer that the device will feature "two slots" for memory cards; one for the new game cart format (which Yoshida confirmed would be proprietary -- not SD) and a second port for additional storage.

Whether the additional slot has been designed for Sony's existing proprietary Memory Stick (the "Micro" version is used for PSP Go memory expansion) has not been specified. "At this point, all we're saying is it is proprietary storage capabilities," SCEA boss Jack Trenton told Engadget, "we're not getting into defining what it is yet."

In pratica, uno slot per la cartuccia di nuovo formato per i giochi... e un altro slot per un altro tipo di cartuccia che verrà usata per salvare programmi e giochi scaricabili, proprietaria anche questa.

Quindi non solo sembra non esserci supporto alle SD, ma addirittura ci sono ben due schede proprietarie diverse. Speravo, dato l'uso delle MicroSD sui suoi nuovi smartphone, che la Sony avesse finalmente smesso di affidarsi a formati proprietari, e invece... forse sono galvanizzati dal successo del Blu-ray

Anche PSP ha una grafica migliore del DS ma la differenza di prezzo non e' mai stata del 100%

Come architettura è una via di mezzo tra il Cell ed un normale CPU, in modalità risparmio viaggia a 800Mhz, in modalità performance a 2Ghz con consumi inferiori ai 2W.
Come performance può essere anche 5 volte più veloce del A8 da 1 Ghz montato ad esempio sull'iPhone4.

La GPU invece è meno impressionante, si ipotizzano 128mb di ram integrata (molto veloce) come supporto a quella condivisa(di 1Gb secondo le fonti) e più che sulla potenza è basata sull'ottimizzazione delle API proprietarie, tanto per dire la GPU citata è disponibile anche nella versione a 16 core e le GPU che abbiano nei nostri pc hanno centinaia di core.

l'hardware è davvero molto interessante! soprattutto questo touchpad posteriore mi sembra una gran trovata, sarà curioso vedere come lo implementeranno nel gameplay!
il prezzo ahinoi sarà la nota dolente, prevedo almeno 499 eurozzi per questo favoloso gingillo...

invece se ne è parlato,
tutti i titoli acquistati dal PSN saranno retrocompatibili, mentre naturalmente gli UMD no non essendo previsto
