ATi Technologies e DivXNetworks hanno siglato un accordo per l`ottimizzazione dei CODEC DivX (che permettono di comprimere interi film in DVD in poche centinaia di MB) che saranno programmati per avvantaggiarsi della tecnologia ATi FullStream (che tramite l`utilizzo delle unità pixel shader esegue operazioni avanzate sui video, per maggiori informazioni vi consigliamo di leggere una delle recensioni di schede con chip ATi Radeon 9700 Pro).

Questo accordo porterà alla diffusione di nuovo software in grado di offrire prestazioni e qualità migliori nella visualizzazione di filmati DivX sulle schede equipaggiate con i più recenti chip grafici ATI (dal Radeon 9000 in poi).

Si tratta di un passo molto importante in quanto la tecnologia ATi FullStream inizia ad attirare parecchi interessi e consensi, inoltre i possessori di queste schede saranno avvantaggiati, i filmati in DivX infatti divengono sempre più diffusi.

Interessante, ma io non lo trovo poi un così grande colpaccio. Chi comprerà una 9700/9500 vuoi che non abbia dietro alle spalle un computer dalle prestazioni assolutamente più che sufficienti per godersi a piena qualità un divx?

anche realplayer dovrebbe essere ottimizzato a breve per ati!
le schede che traggono giovamento per ora sono quelle con supporto fullstream, cioe 9000, 9000pro, 9500, 9500 pro, 9700, 9700 pro e forse anche la 9100, ma non sono sicuro di quest ultima.

Ottimo avevo acquistato la 9000 nell'attesa di doom3 e unreal2.
Poi passerà al muletto duron850 che sarà dedicato completamente ai divx.

Non è un problema di potenza ma di qualità video nella riproduzione (dovrebbe ridurre le pixellature)

Altro colpaccio da parte di Ati,anche se c'era d'aspettarselo spero solo che la qualita maggiore si vedra anche sui divx rippati con i vecchi codec 4 e 5 e nn solo sul futuro divx6,quindi se Nvidia mette il suo logo all'inizio dei giochi Ati lo mettera sui prossimi codec divx e scusate se è poco visto la ormai enorme diffusione di questo formato.

Mmmm... ...cosa c'entra??? va che se hai un P2 350 o un P4 3500 la qualità del DivX non cambia per un caz....

Mi sa proprio che non sai a cosa serve il fullstream

Si c'è mi pare, ne sono quasi sicuro, ricordo ai suoi tempi di una demo (un filmato di una moto blu) che faceva vedere una specie di antialiasing e diffusione per ridurre le squadrettature.
