Animal Farm..risposte in inglese
Raga la prof mi ha dato da rifare il compito in classe a casa..siccome me lo valuta vorrei chiedervi gentilmente si potreste darci uno sguardo visto che mi gioco la sufficienza!
1) Animal Farm was written to express Orwell's indignation towards Stalin's policies. Match the reference to the history of USSR below with their corresponding symbols in the text. - MARX : Old Major - STALIN : Napoleon - TROTSKY : Squealer - STALIN'S SECRET POLICE : The dogs - THE PROPAGANDIST OF THE REGIME : Squealer - THE FIVE-YEAR PLANS : boh.. - THE RAPRESENTATIVES OF THE PROLETARIAT : The two horses, Boxer and Clover - THE KREMLIN : The barn - HITLER : Frederick 2) Focus on the way the animals are portrayted. Each of them, though retaining the traits of its species, stands for precise representative type. Analyse the figure of Napoleon.Write down hius actions. How is his personality connoted? Does his name suit his role? Now concentrate on Boxer. What does the choice of his name suggest? Do the trait of his species convey a symbolic role? 3) Clover is presented as a individual with a personalty of her own. Look at the word "clover" up the dictionary and write its meaning. Think about Clover's reflection after the execution and say what she is like. 4) The confession and execution of the animals marks a crucial point in the book. What themes does it introduce? 5) "If you can control the language you can control the thought". Comment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) Napoleon is an aggressive pig who early on becomes the leader of the farm.He is really a tyrant who has grown up with an other pig called Snowball and later in the story he eliminates his fellow pig. Napoleon makes the animals work like slaves and even executes them. He changes some important rules of the farm's "seven commandments" such as drinking alcohol, wearing clothes and killing other animals. The name of the pig is not casually given,in deed his name makes us think of Bonaparte, the renowned french general and emperor in the 18th century. The character of Boxer symbolizes peasants who are downtrodden by certain political figures. His name, Boxer, like someone who participates in boxing...in deed he was the hardest worker and the strongest devotee to the revolution but at the end he is betrayed. 3) A clover is small plant with three to four leaves. The character Clover is a mare, female horse, who, after the execution assumes a motherly position with the other animals on the farm, offering help and understanding. She is the one who is a true believer in the revolution and all that it stands for. 4) First Snowball and Napoleon emerge as the leaders of the farm and Napoleon introduce the "seven commandments" then Napoleon uses cruelty and aggression against the other animal such as starvation and execution in order to manipulate them. In other words an important element in the animal's manipulation is the "propaganda machine" made by Squealer who always convinces the animals to accept Napoleon's injustice. The theme introduced is the changing of the rule and the gradual dominance of the pigs over the other animals. Then as the years pass, the animals themselves assume more and more human characteristics and the seven commandments are reduced to one: "All animals are equal but some are more equal the others". This theme takes us back to the beginning of the book. Everything has connected into a full circle. Orwell believed that in this totalitarian and corrupted regime the ideals of the revolution are not easily maintained. 5) The phase "if you can control the language, you can control the thought" is profound and very true: in a totalitarian state where there is no space for independent thought, only what is decided from above is offered to the people who must obey without rebellion. Thereby controlling what the people say and do controlling their every thought and action.

3) The term "clover" stands for a small plant with tree or sometimes four leaves. Clover, the character, is a mare, a female horse who, after the execution assumes a motherly position towards the other animals of the farm, offering them help and understanding. She is the one who really believes in the revolution and all that it stands for.

4) At the beginning of the story, Snowball and Napoleon emerge as the leaders of the farm and the latter introduces the "seven commandments". Further on in the story, Napoleon start using cruel and aggressive means, such as starvation

In other words an important element in the animals' manipulation is the "propaganda machine" performed by Squealer who always convinces the animals to accept Napoleon's injustices. The themes introduced are the changment of the rules and the gradual dominance of the pigs over the other animals. Then, as the years pass by, the animals themselves assume more*human characteristics and the seven commandments are reduced to one: "All animals are equal but some are more equal the others". This theme takes us back to the begining of the book. Everything has come in full circle. Orwell believed that in this totalitarian and corrupted regime the ideals of the revolution are not easily maintained. * non so se con " more" intendevi "sempre più", in quel caso la locuzione avverbiale corretta è"more and more".

Perciò toglierei "this".
