Hong Kong Mar 22 2001 --- InnoVision Multimedia takes pride in introducing the next progression of the highly successful Inno3D Tornado GeForce2 Series - the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3, boasting some groundbreaking technologies that leave its rivals biting the dust.
Traditionally, developers were limited to the hard-coded palette for creating effects, resulting in the same generic look and feel. What sets the GeForce3 apart is its nfiniteFXTM engine, the world's first programmable 3D graphics chip architecture, giving developers the ability to program a multitude of special effects.
The Vertex Shader injects personality into characters and reality in to scenes. Characters can show intricately detailed facial emotions and make life-like movements, while materials can stretch. In the past, vertex-shading effects were so mathematically complex that they could only be processed offline using dedicated servers.
The Pixel Shader creates ambiance with materials and surfaces that mimic reality, replacing artificial, computerized looks with high-impact organic surfaces. The combination of these Engine components produces graphics that are unprecedented in detail, vividness and realism.
An additional benefit of the nfiniteFXTM Engine is its ability to apply four textures in a single pass. Applying multiple textures in one pass almost always yields better performance than performing multiple passes. Multiple asses translate into multiple geometry transformations and multiple Z-buffer calculations, slowing the overall rendering process.
Of course, the most stunning graphics in the world is of little value if performance is compromised. The GeForce3 makes another breakthrough in this department, using its Lightspeed Memory Architecture (LMA), hosting a number of revolutionary advances that dramatically improves the GPU's efficiency with memory and bus bandwidth.
By representing complex geometry as a high-order surface and performing those surface calculations entirely on the GPU, the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 avoids transmitting tremendous amounts of triangle data across the AGP bus, ensuring that communication between the host and the GPU can continue efficiently. NVIDIA's patented high-resolution anti-aliasing (HRAA) embeds anti-aliasing and multisampling intelligence in the core of the GPU, generating high-performance samples at nearly four times the rate of the GeForce2 Ultra while delivering detailed and crisp lines even at high frame rates using Quincunx AA mode.
The on-board Double Rate (DDR) Memory is the world's fastest DDR Memory Interface, producing a transfer rate of 7.36GB per second, enabling content developers to use high-quality, 32-bit colour textures and high-polygon-count scenes.
Naturally, flexibility is assured with the support of AGP 4X/2X & AGP Texturing, Microsoft DirectX and OpenGL Optimization, all of which are industry-wide standards that ensure hardware communications stability as well as software / OS compatibility. Nvidia's Unified Driver Architecture guarantees forward and backward compatibility with software drivers, simplifying the task of upgrading to new Nvidia products.
The GeForce3 also promises extensive functionality, featuring an onboard High Definition Video Processor, transforming an ordinary PC into a high-quality DVD and HDTV player. What's more, TV-Out and Video Modules gives end users the option of big-screen gaming on a normal TV, digital timeshifting VCR, and video-editing applications.
The combination of unsurpassed graphics quality, powerhouse performance, extensive functionality and broad compatibility dictates the the Inno3d GeForce3 be crowned the new undisputed super heavyweight champion of the graphics card battle. Its sheer might paves the way for developers to explore unchartered dimensions in games and graphic applications, for example, facial expressions, water ripples, etc.
As new software and games make increasingly heavy demands on system resources, the performance advantage of the Inno3D Tornado GeForce3 becomes noticeably clearer, e.g. running simultaneously high resolutions, frame rates and display colours. It would be of no exaggeration to say that this graphic accelerator has been a giant leap for the graphics hardware industry.
The tentative schedule for sampling will be mid April and delivery will be available at the end of April 2001.
Software Bundle
The Tornado GeForce3 comes ready bundled high retail value of excellent software suite including Win DVD2000 software, Ulead PhotoImpact, Colorific and the InnoCreation Clip Art.
