Introduced only seven months ago, the Via KT133 Northbridge is already at the end of its life. As the new KT133A Northbridge, capable of true 133MHz CPU BUS operation moves in to take over, you may find that the KT133 boards are just what your looking for: a reliable, stable, high-performance, cost effective solution. MSI is betting on the KT133 chipset to live a little longer, releasing a new revision to their lil' champ, the MSI K7T PRO, which was release in late June, 2000.

Being that the only difference between the KT133 and the KT133A is the latter's ability to run CPU's at a respectable 133MHz bus (and above) the fact remains, the performance increase may not constitute the price. Also keep in mind that when the KT133A boards do eventually hit the shelves, which is now, the KT133 boards may carry a significant price drop, much like what happened to the AMD 750 and KX133 boards when the KT133 was originally introduced. However, with the fact a KT133A board can carry an astounding increase in performance, anywhere from 5 - 20%, over a KT133 board, many people will opt to pay the extra few bucks for the higher performing board.
