È morto Richard Wright,
uno dei padri dei Pink Floyd
Il tastierista della mitica band inglese aveva 65 anni. Era malato da tempo di cancro

LONDRA - E' morto a 65 anni Richard Wright, uno dei fondatori - insieme a Roger Waters, Syd Barrett e Nick Mason- dello storico gruppo dei Pink Floyd. Il decesso del tastierista, che aveva un cancro. è stato anunciato dalla famiglia. Wright aveva incontratoWaters, Mason e Barrett, che uscì dal gruppo dopo circa due anni ed è morto nel 2006, al college dove erano tutti studenti. Fondarono prima un altro gruppo che si chiamava Sigma 6, successivamente diventato Pink Floyd. Wright è l'autore di alcune canzoni come «The Great Gig In The Sky» e «Us And Them», sul disco del 1973 «The Dark Side Of The Moon», che sono entrate nella storia del rock. Lasciò la band agli inizi degli anni '80 per dedicarsi all'attività di solista, per poi rientrare nel gruppo per partecipare al nuovo cd «A Momentary Lapse of Reason». Wright ha poi continuato a far parte dei Pink Floyd in tutte le sue varie incarnazioni, anche dopo l'uscita di Roger Waters nel 1985. Ha dato anche un contributo importante alla nascita dell'ultimo grande album dei Pink Floyd, The Division Bell.

PADRI DELLA MUSICA PSICHEDELICA - I Pink Floyd, impegnati in un primo periodo in una continua ricerca di sonorità psichedeliche e sperimentazioni elettroniche, sviluppate nel disco "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn", uscito nel 1967, raggiunsero in seguito il successo mondiale grazie a canzoni come Wish You Were Here e Money, e con concept-album quali The Dark Side of the Moon e The Wall.
