ubuntu e ati radeon
premetto che sono un neofita di linux
ho istallato ieri la mia prima versione di ubuntu la 5.04 mi pare mi da problemi a farpartire il programma grafico praticamente dopo il login si bloccatutto. ho provato ad entrare in modalita testuale e a far partire startx ma mi dice fatal server erro server is already activer for display 0 ecc. ecc.. allora mi sono un po' informato e ho visto che forse ci sono problemi con i driver ati ho letto il forum ubuntu che diceva di scaricare e istallare il file fglrx ora io ho una scheda video ati radeon x600 pci-express su un processore amd athlon 64 a 3200 ho scaricato fglrx 6_8_0-8.14.13-1.i386.rpm alla pagina https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27 sono questi i driver che vanno? come faccio ad istallarli poi? |

se non sbaglio devi convertire il pacchetto rpm in deb e poi installarlo più di questo non so perche io ho una gentoo i cui driver me li ha installati in automatico senza problemi.

non mi va l'uscita tv della scheda ati..
visto ke ho debian premetto ke abbiamo 1 problema in comune.. ![]() non esistono i driver in formato deb della ati? sul sito ufficiale sono tutti rpm! |

Allora gente, a me funzionano su Ubuntu 5.04, vi dico come hofatto!
1) aprire il file xorg.con col comando sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf li dovete andare alla riga relativa alla shceda video, cancellare fglrx alla sezione driver e mettere ati, così potrete avviare ils erver grafico disinstallate i driver di ubuntu (xorg-driver-fglrx) e tutto ciò che riguarda fglrx cancellate il vecchio fglrx.ko con il comando da console sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/vostrokernel/kernel/driver/video/fglrx.ko Ora scaricate gli ultimi driver dal sito ati, che sono gli 8.16.20, consiglio l'installer, o almeno a me ha funzionato. Ora click col destro sul file .run dell'installer, rpoprietà, permessi e dategli il eprmesso di esecuzione al proprietario, che non so eprchè ma di default è disabilitato (almeno da me) poi lanciate il comando andando nella directory dove avete il file e e digitando da console sudo ./ati-driver-installer-8.16.20-i386.run Selezionate di isntallare per xorg 6.8.2 e lasciate su automatic. Dopo l'installazione conrollate subito il file /usr/share/fglrx/fglrx-install.log Se vedete la dicitura di errore "missed implict or normal rules" niente panico. Andate in synaptic e cercate gcc, assicuratevi di avere installate le gcc 3.3 e non le 3.4, dopodichè date il comando sudo ln -sf /usr/bin/gcc-3.3 /usr/bin/gcc a questo punto rilanciate l'installer ATI come fatto in precedenzea e ricontrollate il file /usr/share/fglrx/fglrx-install.log, stavolta nond ovrebbero esserci errori! ora riaprite /etc/X11/xorg.conf con l'editor che volete ma sempre con sudo, e rimettete fglrx alla voce driver. Riavviate e dovrebbe andare ![]()

è più facile a farsi che a dirsi, aprola di unoc he ci ha perso su 4 mesi, e ha anche dovuto formattare e reinstallare

![]() cmq sn riuscito a far andare l'installer (adesso ho su mandriva beta3 2006) vado x dare fglrxconfig ... 1 kasino di parametri mi chiede... dopo ke ho configurato il pc nn si avvia più in modalità grafica.. |
