Per la prima volta sto usando tcp optimizer...ma ho fatto qualche cazzata.
Ho lasciato tutto di default, trannela portante...che vaolore devo mettere?

Ciao Feo, come valore di portante devi mettere quella che agganci effettivamente, poi selezioni "optimal settings" ed eventualmente PPPoE se usi questo protocollo (per settare l'MTU a 1492 anziché a 1500), e, selezionando la scheda di rete opportuna nel menu a tendina, fai apply. Se fai cazzate ricorda che il programma in automatico ti crea il backup della configurazione precedente prima di applicare le nuove impostazioni nella cartella nella quale si trova l'eseguibile.

che router hai adesso?
se hai il wgate telecom o w2+ dovresti avere un lieve miglioramento..circa 2 ms

Ora ho un ericsson 220dp che va max 8 mb in donw e 800 in up...

Lo chiedo perchè ho provato per un paio di giorni un Netgear DM111P ADSL 2+ e invece di migliorare è peggiorato di 4/5

cmq altri alice 20 mega hanno il 340 e si trovano bene anche come ping..

Che palle ragazzi...
La mia connessione va male ormai da più di un mese...

Prima pingavo su server italiani tra i 9ms e i 15ms. Ora invece passa da 50ms a 100ms. Verso l'estero non ne parliamo...per vedere un video su youtube ci impiego un sacco di tempo.

Il brutto è che non ho alternative..

Ho appena provato a scaricare da Microsoft...viaggio a 70KB/s

Il ping purtroppo non e' una cosa garantita.
Non lo e' con NGI che imposta in fast la connessione, figurati con gli altri providers wholesale, inclusa TI.
Aggiungi a questo che Tiscali a parte, il routing all'estero degli altri providers fa schifo per il gaming online.

chissà quando sarà disponibile per i nostri 340

Sul forum billion e su whirpool ci sono molte lamentele sugli ultimi firmware, in particolare la serie 5.52.

Piccolo offtopic : il problema su arstechnica non si e' risolto ma ora ho preso grande provvedimenti, ho reinstallato il mio fido zyxel 660hw-61 con la stessa configurazione (firewall,dns, etc..) del l'R440.
Ora quello che ho potuto notare sono due cose : nessun problema con arstechnica e la portante resta su un tempo maggiore che con l'R440.
Sono gia' 3 giorni che lo zyxel e' installato. Con l'R440, arstechnica diventa irragiungibile dopo 2-3 ore.
Questo significa che ci deve essere un bug nel firmware del R440, altre spiegazioni non ce ne sono.

Non e' un problema di ip dinamico, e' proprio la linea che cade.

Comunque che il firmware del R440/430 sia piu' acerbo di quello dello zyxel non ci piove (lo zyxel ha avuto 11 release fino adesso).
Un po' mi spiace tenere da parte l'R440 a causa del problema con arstechnica.
Vabbe', aspetto con fiducia un firmware che sistemi il problema del dns (perche' penso sia quello il problema alla base di arstechnica).
Nel frattempo lo zyxel e' stato richiamato in servizio.
