proprio poco fa ho installato il mod:
come dal sito sono 2 mappe ctf e dico subito che il calo di fps è considerevole. Le mappe sono una la chiuso e una all'aperto in quella al chiuso si scende fino a sotto i 30fps si aprono varchi nei muri (non in tutti ovvio), pavimenti, tetti, finalmente gli oggetti non sono incollati alle texture e le combo non si fanno con lo shock! ![]() La mappa esterna è quella del tornado e meglio di guardare il video sul sito non posso dire. comunque chi non ha un pc "dotato" penso che dovrà ridimensionare le pretese. Ultima cosa tempi di caricamento delle mappe decisamente lunghi. provato a 1280*1024 tutti i settaggi grafichi al massimo. p.c. q6600,2gbram,8800gts320. Come termine di paragone fate che in shangrila non scendo mai sotto i 100 fps. |

What’s the Difference between AGEIA APEX and AGEIA PhysX? AGEIA PhysX is the physics engine that AGEIA distributes, AGEIA APEX is a development platform which makes use of PhysX easier and more powerful. AGEIA APEX is basically a new and more efficient way to take advantage of the AGEIA PhysX engine. Does AGEIA APEX require a PhysX Processor (PPU)? No AGEIA APEX actually scales to multiple different environments both with PPU and without. AGEIA APEX is tuned for multi-core setups, single-core setups and for current and future iterations of the AGEIA PhysX PPU. What is the Pipeline Offload Component of AGEIA APEX? Pipeline Offload = Game Engine Optimization for PhysX. Physics generates a tremendous amount of data for the game engine. Most engines are not designed to for this and can quickly overwhelm the CPU and GPU, thus leaving the PPU to wait for other processors to complete their tasks. The Pipeline offload component of AGEIA APEX is the set of engine modifications which optimize the code executing in the game engine to allow for the best performance in a PhysX-enabled environment. Simply put, this ensures that the Game Engine itself can make the best possible use of all the systems computational resources such as multi-core CPUs and an AGEIA PhysX Processor – if present. What is Scaling Level of Detail? One of the most valuable aspects of AGEIA APEX is the integrated scaling - a first for physics middleware. This allows for a physically simulated event to be scaled to meet the processing capabilities of the platform without creating multiple unique events or lowerimpact events designed for min-spec configurations. Simply put, a single physical event (like glass shattering or a pipe bursting) can be scaled up or down in terms of detail without additional engineering work. The scaling is automatically controlled by the AGEIA APEX system, using interpolation between performance data points acquired from different systems, through built-in benchmarking. The precise behavior can be tuned by the game developer, and optionally overridden by the player via UI sliders for direct control over the game play experience. Does Scalable Level Of Detail work with multi-core and console processors, or is it just for scaling to different PPU configurations? AGEIA APEX’s scaling LOD (level of detail) system is designed to scale to single core, multi-core and PPU environments. Future plans for Console scaling are also in development. When will AGEIA APEX be released and how can I get it? AGEIA APEX will be distributed at no additional charge with Unreal Engine 3.0 in early 2008. As further APEX Verticals are developed, or when other game engines are supported, there will be further releases. Does AGEIA offer support for AGEIA APEX? Is AGEIA APEX compatible with Xbox 360 or Playstation 3? AGEIA APEX is compatible with PCs and Xbox 360 currently. Playstation 3 developers can license the PhysX engine directly from Sony. At present, the scaling level of detail (LOD) in AGEIA APEX is restricted to PC. Game consoles represent a fixed target environment and as such applications for them do not need to support scaling. Ah quindi diciamo che è il nuovo tool del motore fisico che rende compatibile la fisica di ageia sia con scheda ageia che con hardware normale come cpu dual core e quad core
![]() ![]() ![]() Questo si che vuol dire ragionare! Molto molto bene. Quindi tutti avranno la fisica ageia (che è fenomenale) sfruttando così i multi core. Con questo passo credo che ageia non venga più impensierita dall'havock, visto che adesso ha sia l'accelerazione delle cpu che l'accelerazione delle ppu Ageia. Vedremo come implementeranno apex nei prossimi giochi ![]()

Ma in molti ambiti gli A64 sono ancora dei buoni processori. Le vga le prendono a secchi solo dalle GTX/Ultra, la nuova GT è un pelo avanti, le 2900 e le 3800 sono sempre avanti alle GTS. In più le 3800 consumano molto meno di tutte le concorrenti e se si fà un rapporto prestazioni/consumo ne escono pienamente vincenti. Ultimamente c'è l'abitudine di lanciarsi in attacchi contro AMD (ora stò generalizzando) solo perchè questa non ti propone un octacore alla metà della cpu entry level della concorrente (esempio). ![]()

dopo vado a ripescarmi le comparative, ma mi pareva che la 2900 anche con gli ultimi driver ne buscava il piu delle volte dalla GTS.

se non ho tradotto male Il nuovo motore Havoc fx non supporterà la fisica sulle GPU ![]() Altra cosa su "the game Machine" parlano di un nuovo gioco "They" che uscirà tra 1 anno e mezzo che sarà completamente scritto in DX10 (ora nessuno usa le DX10 ma solo piccole cose delle DX10) e userà la fisica di ageia in modo radicale. Facendo i conti della serva: tra 1 anno si vedranno i titoli "completamente in DX 10" nel frattempo "forse" usciranno le 11 (e chissà quando usciranno titoli scritti completamente con quelle librerie), se i porgrammatori vorranno utilizzare il nuovo Havoc fx i calcoli se li dovrà sorbire la CPU (intel la pensata bene). Sono convinto che se è così nel 2008 vedremo aumentare i titoli che useranno Novodex. |
