come si attiva il native command queuing ???
per ora su gentoo e Suse ...
WD Raptor 10.000 con tcq (è il parente povero dell'ncq ... ma su un 10.000 rpm ...  )seagate barracuda 7200.8 con ncq come si fa ad attivare il Ncq ??? (il tcq dovrebbe avere lo stesso procedimento, credo ...  )  grazie !

Dipende se il driver del chipset lo supporta. Nforce mi pare non lo faccia.

si, si ho nforce4 per AMD ... il BIOS lo avvia al southbridge in automatico se rileva l'ncq dai dischi all'avvio.
Infatti non ci sono le opzioni Attiva/disattiva dal bios ... lo fa lui da solo. Su winnozz bisogna in più anche avere SP e attivarlo per la parte software da gestione periferiche .... Su Linux che si deve fare dal lato software, posto che la parte "hardware" si attiva al boot in automatico ???

L'ncq è una cosa che deve essere "attivata" sia via sw che hw (come per xp
 ). Il problema è che per nforce4 nvidia non ha rilasciato le informazioni per poterlo attivare. Forse altri chipset lo permettono, ma non saprei dirti di preciso.
