Installare i .tar.gz... CHE STRESS!

Ragazzi, sarà che sono un maledetto niubbo, ma davvero ho sempre problemi ad installare le cose con i .tar.gz!
Ad esempio ora volevo installare superkaramba perchè tempo fa lo installai via .rpm ma nn mi faceva configurare i temi allora ci ritento... Ma ora, così come con altri file .tar.gz come ad esempio quickdc o altri mi dà sempre questo errore:

Hai installato il gcc (linguaggio C) ma non il g++. Probabilmente anche le librerie c++ di sviluppo non sono state installate...

Il compilatore gcc l'ho installato infatti, gli altri due sospettavo di doverli installare ma nn so come... con urpmi nn ho cavato un ragno dal buco... quello c++ dovrebbe essere gcc-c++ giusto?
Se avete qualche dritta sui pacchetti giusti e su dove trovarli sono tutt'orecchie!!!

non lo so, non uso mandrake. comunque installa quello e ripeti il configure, probabilmente trovera' il compilatore.. e si blocchera' su qualcos'altro

Per l'ennesima volta: parti con il cd di installazione, selezioni "aggiornamento" invece di installazione", aggiungi gli "strumenti di sviluppo" nella scelta dei pacchetti, e ti verrà aggiunta buona parte di quello che serve. Eventuali pacchetti singoli richiesti dai sorgenti puoi installarli dopo con urpmi (o con rpmdrake se non sai il nome preciso).

Secondo me no. Per conoscere a fondo rpm, per dire (e intendo dire scriversi gli spec file), piuttosto che emerge con gli ebuild, sono richieste conoscienze non banali.

Certo piace a tutti vedere l'output di gcc scorrere pero` a meno che si abbia gentoo o freebsd o similari non e` molto conveniente sul lungo periodo buttare dentro tanta roba a cazzo (= da sorci e make install) perche` e` cmq roba che lo spacchettatore responsabile della distro non gestisce e non vede neanche.
Decisamente l33t e` compilare ma poi anche inserire il risultato in un pacchetto valido x la distro... cosi` e` tutto perfetto ma ancora piu` tempo perso...

Pero` se uno usa decentemente (non dico da dio) lo spacchettatore della distro e installa solo roba in quel formato, avra` di sicuro un sistema pulito e upgradato per tutti gli anni a venire e questo e` l'importante..
