The profile folder information is stored in the Registry. You may change it in the Registry.

1. Open the Registry Editor.

a) Click Start and select Run.
b) Type regedit in Open box and click OK.

2. Windows XP stores the local profile information in the registry under the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WiindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\{SID
userid}

Note: Under the ProfileList key, there will be subkeys names with the SIDs of the users
who have logged on to this computer. (To find the profile information for the user whose
locally cached profile you want to move, click or arrow up and down to each entry and
examine the directory path on the right of the ProfileImagePath. ProfileImagePath should
be set to a local path where you want to store the profile not over a network.

3. Find the {SID userid} for the second account and change the value of the
ProfileImagePath to C:\my folders\user2.

Also, you may need to use the Copy Profiles function to copy the original profile
information.

1. Log on as another administrator.
2. Right-click My Computer and select Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab and click Settings in the User Profiles section.
4. Select the account and click Copy To.
5. Click the Browse button to select the folder.
6. Click the Change button in the Permitted to use section to set the permission to the
account.
7. Enter the account name in the pop-up window and click OK.
8. Click OK to copy the profile.

1) Create un nuovo Account
2) Loggatevi col mnuovo e inizializzatelo
3) Loggatevi come un admin (nè il nuovo nè il vecchio
4) Aprite Pannello di Controllo>>Sistema>>Avanzate>>Impostazioni di Profili Utenti
7) Selezionate il vecchio
8) Cliccate Copia in
9) Scegliete l'account nuovo..

Scusate forse dico una cazzata ma non e piu semplice creare un nuovo utente e in seguito cancellare l'utente vecchio??

ma ovviamente perdi tutti i settings

per copiare i settings bisogna caricare il file ntuser.dat (hive) da regedit (regedt32 in windows 2000) e dare i permessi al nuovo utente di leggerlo e modificarlo ed in fine scaricarlo


In questa maniera funziona tutto sicuramente, ma sto' troppo a spiegarlo
