Impressioni su Ubuntu 8.10 - Intrepid Ibex
Salve ragazzi,
io devo dire che sono rimasto alquanto deluso da questa release. Nel senso che una volta installata, il computer mi diventa letteralmente un chiodo. Premetto che provengo, sul fisso, da un Gutsy, ho saltato a pié pari la Hardy installando la nuova 8.10... Beh, non ho potuto fal altro che, alla fine, installare la 8.04. Praticamente i problemi sono questi:
Ovviamente tutte le prove sono state fatte a parità di configurazione software, nel senso che ad esempio, ho configurato Compiz allo stesso modo come lo avevo configurato con le versioni precenti, nessun tema particolare, solo clearlooks standard e così via... Sono tornato, dopo non poco sconforto a Hardy e lì mi sono sentito nuovamente a "casa" stessa reattività di Gutsy sia nel sistema in generale che con Internet e Compiz... Mi domando a cosa possa essere dovuto questo drastico calo di prestazioni, ripeto, a parità di hardware (quello in sign) e di software...  A qualcuno è capitata la stessa cosa? Grazie mille cionci. Adesso rimane il problema di accedere a Windows da Ubuntu. Quello però è un problema che ho più o meno sempre avuto, anche con la 8.04. Praticamente vede i PC in rete ma quando li esploro vedo sempre "0 oggetti"...

Ciao a tutti avrei un paio di domande:
premetto che sono nuovo di ambiente Linux, quindi non linciatemi 1) - Consigliate Kubuntu 8.10? avevo letto che KDE 4 non era ancora stabile... conviene ancora rimanere con la 8.04 e KDE 3? 2) - Volendo installare Ubuntu/Kubuntu in dualboot con Win XP (ognuno sul suo hdd), il boot manager (Lilo o grub) viene installato in auto o ha bisogno di impostazioni/configurazione? grazie

Sono passato ieri sera da Hardy 8.04 a Intrepid 8.10!!! E sono molto molto molto soddisfatto!!!

qualcuno si spiega il fatto che dopo aver fatto un resize della partizione,usplash funziona fino a metà del boot,popi esce in console,sono ritornato ad una partizione unica ed il problema sussiste,mi capitava anche in hardy....
P.s:naturalmente ho rigenerato initrd

Salve a tutti, volevo chiedere un parere sull'installazione di Ubuntu 8.10.
Premesso che avevo installato la 8.04 tranquillamente e la 8.10rc in vmware anche senza problemi sul mio pc. Lancio l'installazione di Intrepid ed ho il primo problema: devo fare le partizioni(precedentemente ne avevo solo due root e swap), vado in manual e cerco di creare la terza partizione. Appena comincio mi sembra strano il comportamento poiche ad ogni operazione corrisponde un'azione immediata mentre prima potevo fare tutto e dopo applicava le modifiche. Comunque vado avanti e creo le prime due parizioni: \ 20Gb \home 20Gb \swap ??? esce scritto 1000Mb unable to use e nessun tasto è attivo. In poche parole non riesco a fare tre partizioni. Se faccio swap non posso fare /home. Continuo l'installazione senza swap ed alla fine quando arrivo sul desktop non ho la connessione ad internet. E' normale tutto questo? Non ho mai avuto problemi dalla 7.04 e adesso questa mi sta facendo incasinare? E' una iso scaricata da torrent mal riuscita? Boo, non so che pensare. Che faccio? Grazie

Appena finito di installare Ubuntu 8.10 è devo dire che è semplicemente eccezzionale, tutti i problemi che avevo con la 8.04 sono spariti, adesso mi legge tutti gli hard disk senza problemi.
Credo che con questa versione abbandonerò definitivamente windows!

qualche idea su come fixare il mio povero grub?
Sennò rimarrà a vita sul vecchio kernel e quindi i miei problemi continueranno con un loop infinito! A parte gli scherzi... dite che devo davvero reinstallare/riconfigurare il grub? |
