dato che è hitachi anche se si chiama lg mi sa' di si.
vedremo comunque è sicuro che 4165 non è altro che un 4163 con il supporto hai dvd-r dl.
il 4166 è una versione + piccola del normale pero' fa' i lightscribe.
il 4168 doveva essere il top dei top ma non si capische una mazza ,perche' costa cosi' tanto ?

Conoscete un modo per fissare il bitsetting definitivamente su dvd-rom?
Ho provato con dvdinfopro ma ad ogni riavvio il bitsetting si disattiva, stessa cosa con cd-dvd speed di Nero.
Il problema è che uso clonedvd 2 per masterizzare e questo non supporta la modifica del bitsetting e quindi mi tocca attivarlo ogni volta manualmente.

beh va bene le novità, ma vi siete già stancati di usare il 4163 ?
mah sarà perchè ce l'ho da neanche 2 settimane , ma ne sono entusiasta e mi pento anzi di non averlo comprato prima , ma non penso certo di cambiarlo.
la cosa che mi spiace sono i test, spero che esca una versione di firmware che abiliti tutti i test stile plextor o lit-on.

Per testare i dvd devo per forza usare un masterizzatore, un lettore no?

Per testare può andare bene un mast philips 16ls (col lightscribe), ovvero i test di nero lo supportano?

Può un aggiornamento firmware essere peggiorativo, anche se andato a buon fine?
Sto impazzendo con il 4160b che non mi scrive + alcune marche.
Anche se non con le possibiltà di settaggi del 4163b ha una qualità di scrittura piuttosto buona, vi risulta?

è una domanda che mi sono fatto anch'io e se ho ben capito i test della qualità sono supportati x ora solo da plextor e lite-on .
con gli altri si possono fare solo alcuni test e quali sono li scopri subito avviando o Nero Tools o Plextools pichè ti dicono che non sono disponibili x l'unità.
un tool valido che mi è stato consigliato qui sul forum è cd-dvd diagnostic fa un bel test sul cd-dvd dopo il burning e ti dice il numero degli errori:
i soft error ci sono sempre e intorno al 20-25% e pare sia normale
se hai degli hard error nutta via il dvd.
x il firmware..., mah dovrebbero sempre migliorare , ma non si sa mai magaro sembra che la procedure sia anadta a buon fine perchè è terminata e poi invece i dati sono stati aggiornati male.
e riprovare ?

fondamentale un masterizzatore e meglio se liteon(test K-Probe) o Plextor(PX scan).Se vai su cdfreaks,cdrinfo,cdrlabs leggi il perchè.

Per quanto concerne K-probe:
So what about writing quality? Testing a drive's DVD writing quality isn't easy. Until now, there were very few options, unless you wanted to shell out thousands of dollars for a certified test machine. Thanks to KProbe, we can test a disc's PI (Parity Inner) and PIF (Parity Inner Fail) rates. For these tests I used a Lite-On SOHW-1673S (firmware JS07) and read the discs at 4x with the PI and PIF ECC sums set to 8 and 1 respectively. For comparison, I also tested the discs on a BenQ DW1620. When combined with Nero CD Speed, the DW1620 is able to report PI Errors, PI Failures, Parity Outer Failures and even jitter levels. For this test, the discs are read at 8x with both the PI and PIF ECC sums set to 8.

So what are "good" results supposed to look like? With KProbe, the PI errors should not exceed 280 and the number of PIF errors should stay below 4. When testing with CD Speed, the number of PI errors should stay below 280 as well. However, because it scans with an ECC sum of 8, a higher number of PIF errors is acceptable, as long as they do not exceed 32. Since POF errors are uncorrectable, we really don't want to see any of them at all.

I also put these discs through a "stress test" by reading them back with a Lite-On XJ-HD166S. By default, this DVD-ROM drive reads recordable media at only 8x. However, thanks to a firmware patched by The Dangerous Brothers, I was able to boost the drive's read speed to 12x. By reading these discs back at this speed, we can see if there are any readability issues caused by the number of errors or high levels of jitter.

a proposito Grande LG4163 anche nell'audio . sto mettendo tutti i miei nastri e LP su cd sia audio CD che in mp3 a 320 KB x archio, molto bene, a parità di velocità sembra che vada + in fretta del vecchio Plextor quasi in pensione.

Quindi se uno volesse "godere" appieno delle tecnologie attuali ed avere "consapevolezza" delle proprie masterizzazioni, dovrebbe essere cosi attrezzato:

Lg 4163b per i dvd-ram e l'ottima scrittura.

Philips-Benq-Hp per il lightscribe

Lite-on per verificare il tutto

e forse ancora philips per il Solid burn

e poi Nec per una nuova tecnologia simile al lightscribe ma + veloce.

Dimentico qualcosa?

Tra l'altro restando in casa Lg sembra che nei prossimi drive NON possa finalmente esserci la possibilità di test qualità.

Siccome sono scontento del mio lg 4160b, mi sto guardando in giro per 1 solo prodotto che mi consenta di fare un pò tutto, accedendo alle nuove tecnologie, ma vedo che la situazione è come al solito incasinata.

Avete news di un prodotto globale?

Invece di correre dietro al blu ray e all' hd dvd, perchè non consolidano l'attuale tecnologia in modo che un povero mortale possa acquistare un solo masterizzatore?

Lo prometto nel prossimo intervento sarò + costruttivo e meno polemico.

Ieri ho comprato il master DVD di questo post.
Ho subito aggiornato il firmware senza errori e riavviato alla versione A105.
Nero 6.6.0.16 mi dà la possibilità di una velocità max di 12x, ma forse ciò è dovuto ai supporti DVD, sono della coop DVD+R velocità scrittura max 8x: sono troppo scadenti o è il masterizzatore o nero?

Forse ho trovato il drive universale che cercavo, cioè il Nec ND-4551A, dell'articolo, che fa anche i dvd-ram!!!

Bisogna vedere se svilupperanno i supporti per il Label flash tecnologia.

Ho il vago sospetto che il dvd coop +r sia un fake tayio yuden e il masterizzatore venga ingannato dall'ID che è uguale ai veri tayio yuden,per cui inizia a scrivere pensando di scrivere un TY(e la scelta 12X lo conferma),ma il supporto essendo falso viene bruciato;prova a scriverlo a 4X anzicchè 8X.E comunque compra verbatim-ricoh-TY veri.

Rileggevo le pagine di questo forum, ed ho notato che nelle istruzioni per l'aggiornamento firm consigliate di disattivare il dma; perchè che problemi può dare il non disattivarlo?

Nelle istruzioni dei vari siti lg non si parla di questa manovra.
Anzi per la verità sul sito italiano di lg dicono di non aggiornare il firm!!!!!

a me quella manovra francamente era sfuggita tato è vero che ho aggiornato il firmware 1 volta sola x ora ma col dma attivo e tutto è andato liscio
anche a me sfugge il motivo , casomai è vero il fatto che deve essere sul canale master
