Problemi con Boinc (Rosetta) su Vista

12/04/2007 11.50.17|rosetta@home|[error] Can't link projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta/rosetta_5.59_windows_intelx86.exe to slots/0/rosetta_5.59_windows_intelx86.exe Questo è quanto mi compare ad ogni riavvio del sistema dopo un'ibernazione...inoltre le wu vanno in "computation error" una volta che riprendo ad utilizzare il computer Per ora l'unica soluzione è la reinstallazione (di boinc ovviamente  )  Aiutatemi grazie...voglio solo scaccolare  Ciao!

Forse ho la soluzione per i tuoi problemi... ma mi occorrono più messaggi di log.

Mi sa che non è un problema di ibernazione
Ieri sera ho sospeso lo scaccolo, chiuso boinc, spento (no ibernazione) il notebook. Questa mattina al riavvio, ho fatto ripartire l'attività di scaccolo...tutto ok Poi sono uscito, tornato a casa mi sono accorto che non scaccolava Allego i messaggi da quando ho acceso questa mattina Codice:

Ok, sono andato un po' in giro per il web e mi sono documentato!
Il problema che riporti non è presente nell'Unofficial Wiki (fonte magna per tutti i debugger ); c'è qualcosa di simile, ma non viene riportato esattamente il tuo problema.  L'errore è dovuto quasi sicuramente ad un problema di diritti di lettura/scrittura della directory in cui è installato BOINC.  Questo problema può derivare da almeno due cause: 1) La procedura di ibernazione (ma anche quella di spegnimento) del PC sono troppo rapide per permettere a BOINC di chiudersi correttamente; BOINC non si chiude in maniera corretta e non setta in maniera corretta i diritti di lettura/scrittura delle directory con le WUs. Al riavvio il BOINC Manager trova il client in una directory protetta da lettura/scrittura, non linka l'applicazione alla WU e ti dà l'errore che riporti.  Ora, se mi dici che ogni volta che chiudi, sengi o iberni il PC, CHIUDI MANUALMENTE anche BOINC e POI chiudi, questo problema non dovrebbe presentarsi.  2) Purtroppo BOINC non è il solo ad intrufolarsi tra i permessi di accesso alle directory: lo fa anche il simpatico Vista!  Se BOINC è stato installato nella directory di default, cioè sotto la cartella Programmi, allora la colpa è del sitema operativo. Infatti, per proteggere le installazioni delle applicazioni, Windows Vista modifica i permessi di accesso alle sottodirectory della cartella Programmi. Purtroppo così facendo blocca anche le normali operazioni di BOINC che quindi entra in conflitto con il sistema operativo. In questo caso l'unica soluzione sperimentabile è di: a) Fare una copia della cartella di BOINC; b) Disinstallare BOINC dal computer, cancellando la cartella in cui era installato e in cui sono rimasti i dati relativi ai progetti seguiti; c) Installare nuovamente BOINC in una cartella DIVERSA della cartella Programmi, SENZA avviare BOINC; d) Copiare tutto il contenuto della cartella savata al punto a) nella cartella dove hai appena installato BOINC; e) Far ripartire BOINC; f)  Prima di applicare la procedura, fammi sapere il tuo caso rispecchia le mie ipotesi.

Io ho Vista, ho boinc installato di default dentro la cartella programmi e NON ho problemi! Quindi no, non è quello.

Ho dato questa procedura perchè sul forum ufficiale di BOINC un utente ha riportato quel problema e ha risolto spostando BOINC da un'altra parte. LINK La prima procedura è perfino segnalata nelle note ufficiali del sito di Berkeley... LINK ... e ovviamente esistono threads sul forum... LINK ... LINK Ah già, ma tanto quelli fanno terrorismo psicologico, vero? Peccato che tutta questa gente abbia riscontrato il problema SOLO con Windows Vista... ma sicuramente sarà una casualità, vero?Ora, visto che sei un BOINC-Guru e che sai tutto te, dicci la soluzione, non tenerci sulle spine!  E, già che sei, vai sul forum ufficiale e dì a tutta quella gente che si sbaglia perchè A TE Vista non dà problemi. Io almeno ho cercato di dare una mano...

Gabi, può dipendere da molti fattori...
a) Versione di Vista; b) Tipo di installazione di BOINC effettuata (single, shared, service); c) Opzione "Run as administrator" usata durante l'installazione o meno; d) Privilegi dell'utente durante l'esecuzione di BOINC; e) ... Visto che, nei thread che ho linkato, qualcuno ha avuto problemi simili a quelli di CARVASIN e visto che condividevo l'idea alla base del problema... ho ritenuto opportuno segnalare la strategia da loro adottata per risolvere il problema.

Riguardo ai problemi con BOINC e VISTA, segnalo che la nuova versione beta di BOINC (attualmente 5.9.3) ha tra le novità, una migliorata compatibilità con windows vista. Io la sto provando su XP da alcuni giorni e devo dire che per ora non mi ha dato problemi, magari se qualcuno non riesce a risolvere i problemi con l'attuale versione stabile può provare con quella (non installatela se non avete problemi o su pc che non potete controllare, perchè potrebbero esserci dei bug!)
