X.Org, connessione SSH ed account normale

Mi sono connesso alla mia Linux-box, tramite SSH, con il mio account normale e, volendo controllare anche l'X, tramite un client VNC, ho digitato startx & ma e` apparso questo tipo di messaggio:

Invece, se mi connetto come root, il comando startx & non mi da problemi. Quindi, come devo fare ad risolvere il problema sopra riportato?
