Gentoo e probelma audio...
Ho installato il kernel 2.6.14gentoo-r5 e ricompilato con genkernel ma al riavvio non mi funzionava piu l'audio....ho eseguito alsaconf ma mi cercava solo schede isa....ho chiesto a altri forum su gentoo ma mi è stato detto che coldplug dovrebbe caricare il modulo in avvio (la scheda è una ensoniq, vista come ens 1371 [audio PCI 97] ma non mi carica nulla, ho anche gia provato a affondare alsa e a riemergerlo ma nula di che,suggerimenti?

...Se ti sei accertato che il modulo inserito nel kernel sia quello che fa al caso tuo mi vien da pensare che tu abbia settato il supporto a modulo e non in built-in nel kernel quindi per risolvere a questo fatto prova a mettere il nome modulo in questa lista /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 serve per caricare automaticamente i moduli al avvio. |

Provato ma mi dice che il caricamento fallisce....

Consiglio: togli alsa dal kernel (fossi in te non userei genkernel, a me ha dato più problemi che non altro) e installa i driver esterni.

Quando sai cosa fare, no. Metti come builtin solo il modulo per l'ide della tua scheda madre, e quello per il filesystem della partizione /.
Il resto metti tutto in moduli, anche se non sei sicuro che ti servano, meglio uno in più che uno in meno Alsa lascialo fuori, poi emergi alsa-driver alsa-utils alsa-libs

Quando compili un kernel, c'è scritto spesso in modo chiaro cosa metti e cosa levi, nelle varie opzioncine, quindi, a patto di perderci 2 ore e leggere le cose importanti (i driver di basso livello dell'USB, sticazzi
) dovresti poterlo compilare velocemente.E ricorda che lspci esiste ed in quest caso serve
