Compilazione kernel
Ho tentato per la prima volta di compilare il kernel. Ho scaricato il kernel 2.6.12 ed ho seguito le guida presente nel Debian clan. Al successivo riavvio, però, non riesco ad andare oltre alla schermata di grub.

Hai modificato le impostazioni di GRUB per prendere il nuovo kernel invece che quello vecchio?

No allora non credo sia necessario!!! Se non riesci proprio ad accedere in alcun modo, ti consiglio di prendere un cd live e vedere se si riesce a capire un po' meglio di cosa soffra il tuo pc.

Allora se riesci ad entrare con il vecchio kernel ti conviene prima controllare il menu.lst di GRUB e se non ci sono errori provare la ricompilazione del kernel, magari con il meto´do tradizionale

per compilarlo con l'initrd devi dare questo di comando:
make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image se fosse un problema di intrd dovresti comunque verderle le scritte e al massimo di dovrebbe dare un errore di kernel panic.. io ricompilerei.... |

Infatti, nel debian clan, ti spiegano come compilare un kernel senza initrd (cosa che non sono ancora riuscito a fare).
Ti consiglio di rimuovere il kernel che hai appena installato e ricompilarlo come segue: make-kpkg clean make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image modules_image Poi installi il .deb e vedrai che così funziona. Ciao. |

Premetto che ho guardato molto velocemente il file di configurazione, però da quello che ho visto, se compili con il parametro --initrd, dovrebbe funzionare tutto.
