AMD, perhaps one of the most secretive companies of late, should finally be giving us a peek at Mustang as well as its multiprocessing chipset developments. Reportedly, the Mustang will support a number of architectural advancements beyond the current Athlon, perhaps including a redesigned branch prediction unit as well as a revamped cache system. Although AMD's multiprocessing chipset has been anticipated towards the end of this year for some time, the company has been mum about the details of this DDR SDRAM offering. Both of these news items are high on the list of most anticipated product announcements of the year for the computer technology community.

We'll also hear the latest from IBM and its multi-core Power4 microprocessor. Motorola will talk about breaking 1GHz with the Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) G4. VIA's Centaur division will catch us up with its plans that include fielding a superscaler processor for the first time. Alpha fans will be treated to an update on the Samsung 21264E. Derived from its StrongARM technology, Intel's fantastic XScale processor will be fleshed out a bit. These are only a few of the items up for discussion Tuesday.
