lo fa x colpa dei driver video,e solo con alcune config.

Qualcuno è pratico di ripristini di partizioni ext3?
Tempo fa ho eseguito con TI 11 l'immagine di una partizione ext3 di Ubuntu. Ieri l'ho ripristinata, ma senza successo: prima il bootloader non ha funzionato, poi, pur ripristinandolo, il boot del sistema dalla partizione è stato impossibile.
Come dovrei fare? E, soprattutto: ma si può veramente fare?

Ho un problema!
Non va il cubo degli schermi di compiz, cioè ho un solo schermo dei quattro che ci sono di solito; anche se cambio effetto resta sempre uguale.

Scusami se ti disturbo, ma anch'io vorrei capire come devo settare il cubo.. Nel setting manager ho vistato Cubo desktop e Ruota cubo.. Quando provo ad attivarlo con Ctrl+Alt+Giù non succede niente.. Quando provo a ruotare gira sempre su un perno verticale al centro ma non vedo le 4 facce! Ho 2colonne e 2 righe come desktop settati..

La butto li: forse perche il cubo ha sei facce? Prova con 4 colonne e due righe.

Installa Compizconfig-settings-manager e da lì (lo trovi in preferenze) vai in Opzioni generali -> Desktop size -> metti a 4 dimensioni virtuali orizzontali

problema idiota spero...
dunque, ho messo gutsy sul portatile in firma con x1600 256mb
tutto bene, compiz e' ok, awn pure, e tutte le cose che mi servono anche....
dov'e' il problema?
che mi fa gli screenshot solo di una porzione del video
come ris nativa ho 1280x800... lui fa' gli screen solo della parte entro i 1024x768... cioe', lo screen e' di 1280x800, ma il resto della schermata oltre i 1024 e' nero...

e me lo fa anche dopo la login, che di solito c'e' lo schermo nero, i realta' mi mette nero solo lo spazio 1024 e il resto e' del colore di fondo...

ora, prima di fare casino con xorg.conf (che ho dovuto risistemare via livecd perche' mi faceva entrare solo da consolle e non mandava piu' in esecuzione la shell grafica), gli screen andavo bene, la schermata di login era a 1280x800 (adesso e' a risoluzione minore, nonostante non abbia combiato nulla sul suo file di config)...

tra l'altro, prima il cubo girava anche se giravo la rotella in un'area vuota del desk... adesso non piu'... e' un tantino psicotico?

qualcuno ha delle soluzioni per le cose di cui sopra?... anche perche' continua ad aprirmi le finestre (qualsiasi), sempre in alto a sx dello schermo, nell'area di 1024x768... poi se le sposto io a mano, e' tutto a posto...

Ogni tanto ho dei freez della grafica e a volte mi torna in saifmode.
Ora vi posto il file xorg.conf e il file /etc/gdm/failsafeXServer dove nell'output dell'errore mi da indicato "Riga 47, troppi argomenti".

k.. tnx te lo metto stasera, che adesso sono al lavoro e non ho il disco usb su cui ho ubuntu dietro...

altra cosa, ho fatto io una cazzata in sessioni, nell'elenco che da delle cose in startup automatico, ho cancellato per sbaglio l'ultima (mi ricordo solo che nella dicitura aveva un "vista" qualcosa...

Ciao, se qualcuno di voi ricorda, avevo postato qualche giorno fa un link al mio thread sul problema della connessione ad internet con la 56k. Ebbene oggi mi è arrivato il modem esterno che ho comprato qui sul mercatino del forum e senza alcun problema sono riuscito a collegarmi con Debian, ma con Ubuntu no. Sembra che si collega e poi niente. Ecco il link al thread dove ci sono anche tutte le spiegazioni del caso. Se qualcuno potrebbe aiutarmi gliene sarei grato. Ciao
