Hello Alfonso,

I just installed the last version 2.1.0 of uamod on my DGN2200 v4, and I have some questions about the new functionnality for Dynamic DNS, as I don't fully understand how to set the dtdns (my/your example) host updating.

First, I noticed that the Dynamic DNS page has not changed at all, and that there is no reference to the possible use of a macro for alternative ddns supplier...

Regarding the ddns macro, could you just tell me which tool (puTTy, TeraTerm, ...) I can/must use to write the macro and transfer it to the device ?

Also, does this method make immediate updating of the hostname IP adress after the FAI dynamic IP changes ?

the application that does the dns update is called ddns

ddns checks if /etc/amod/conf/ddns.user exists and it is executable; if so, it is called with one argument, the WAN IP; no further action is taken

ddns.user HAS TO CHECK if the WAN IP changed from the last update it did and then do the update

it has no access to the web ddns configuration page; it can communicate the result of the update in other ways

so, the first things it must do is to check if WAN IP changed

  w=$(cat /tmp/ddns_user_cache)
  [ "$w" = "$1" ] && exit
fi

the it must save the WAN IP

echo "$1" >/tmp/ddns_user_cache

now it can do the update

curl --basic -ksf "http://www.dtdns.com/api/autodns.cfm?id=YOUR_HOST&pw=YOUR_PASSWORD"

of course you have to change YOUR_HOST and YOUR_PASSWORD

that is all; the whole macro is

you can edit this macro on your computer, then transfer it to the usb and the copy it to /etc/amod/conf; or you can edit it in telnet via the editor nano

nano /etc/amod/conf/ddns.user

then make it executable with
chmod +x /etc/amod/conf/ddns.user

Volevo chiedervi per potenziare il WiFi nella casella Della percentuale basta premere il tasto save ed è operativa o si deve fare qualche altra azione? Perché non ho notato grande incremento

che non noti benefici aumentando la potenza di trasmissione wifi è normalissimo

quella cosa la metto altrimenti dopo tre secondi sarei bombardato da richieste in riguardo

l'aumento della potenza wifi in questi cosini la noti forse solo in una zona di frontiera, per dire a 10 metri dal router passando per diversi muri, prima non riuscivi a navigare, aumentando un pò riesci a navigare

altro non noti di certo

i 2200Vx non sono noti per le qualità del segnale wifi

the simplest way is to copy the text ad you would copy any other text, enter telnet and then do

cd /etc/amod/conf
nano ddns.user

not paste the text; f.e. in putty this is simply done via right mouse button; in windows cmd it is done via right mouse, select paste and so on

now save the file pressing ctrl o
exit via ctrl x

now write
chmod +x ddns.user

that's all

puoi tentare qualche prova varia;

seleziona come firmware il primo, mi sembra che sia 4.4.4.1.3.1, apply section accanto selezionata

de seleziona ogni altra apply section, fa un save

poi prova a impostare al posto di LLC, VC

save,

fa un retrain o un reboot

ciao alfonsor, conosco questo forum solamente dalla scorsa settimana, quando cercando qualcosa di più performante per il mio DGN3500 ho scoperto amod.
la versione che ho installato (la penultima che hai rilasciato) copre ampliamente tutti i miei desideri, ovviamente come dici te, una testa un desiderio, comunque prima di scrivertelo ho voluto aspettare giusto qualche giorno che te lo chiedesse qualcun'altro...

prima di tutto, capisco che uno si affezioni ad un indirizzo, ma si potrebbe anche prendere in considerazione di usarne un altro supportato dal router che si sta usando :P

comunque, afraid.org è incluso nei servizi offerti da DNS-O-Matic;

quindi:

fa il login sulla pagina di afraid
va a http://freedns.afraid.org/dynamic/
in fondo c'è curl script, premilo, salva lo script e aprilo
troverai qualcosa come

quindi registra un account su DNS-O-Matic, nella sua pagina web, fa add a service ed aggiungi afraid.org; devi solo metterci la lunga stringa di cui sopra

ora in amod va a ddns e imposta lo account DNS-O-Matic

attualmente infatti sto bypassando il router e mi aggiorno utilizzando una macchinetta linux embedded su cui, fra l'altro, gira su inadyn (nella cui configurazione gira ovviamente la chiave che ho ricavato dal sito come mi suggeisci di fare).
Non conoscevo fino ad ora DNS-O-Matic, grazie per la info.

3500 con firmware mod, ultimo

c'è differenza di aggancio portatante e stabilità del 834gt in meglio rispetto al 3500?
