Partiamo col bios: di fabbrica è 0201...io ho montato subito l'ultimo:0501. Il Bios è identico, chiaramente, a quello della P5KC. Differisce per le seguenti voci: 1)FSB Strap to North....si può scegliere tra 200/266/333 2)i voltaggi bisogna inserirli manualmente....e comunque il bios fornisce il min. e il max. valore supportato....mano mano che si inseriscono valori molti alti tende a cambiare colore. Giallo - Fucsia - Rosso 3)cì sono 2 nuove voci: Load-Line Calibration......"Il Loadline Calibration è una interessante tecnologia implementata con il nuovo chipset Intel P35, ha la funzione di stabilizzare la tensione della cpu sia nelle condizioni di Idle che di Full Load." Quindi l'ho settato su Enable. L'altra è: South Bridge Voltage. 4)Manca la voce "CPU Voltage Damper" 5)purtroppo anche questa sk., qualora si spenga l'alimentatore, si avvia per circa 1 secondo per poi spegnersi e riavviarsi completamente. 6)Il controller integrato Marvell è favoloso: non ho avuto alcun problema con hard disk ide o lettori ide....mentre quello della P5KC mi ha fatto dannare!!! 7)devo provare a fare il raid... 8)ho overcloccato il pc: processore a 3200MHz (quindi settato su 400) ram anche su 400 ddr2-801 (questo non l'ho capito....invece di 800...c'era 801...901...1003) 9)ho impostato il voltaggio della CPU a 1.2685....e CPUz rileva....udite udite....1.264 in idle.....quando avvio Orthos, dopo qualche min., si stabilizza su 1.256!!! Credo che sia fenomenale rispetto alla mia P5KC.... Sui settaggi del bios credo di aver detto tutto. Alla fine ci sono pochissime differenze con la P5KC. Elenco le mie prime impressioni: 1)sk. di rete integrata: FUNZIONA ALLA PERFEZIONE!! La mia ex Attansic L! era una vera schifezza. Ho scelto questa sk. anche per via della sk. di rete targata Marvell, anche perchè l'ho avuta sul portatile e mi sono sempre trovato bene. Non ho problemi relative a cadute di linea.....riguardo all'utilizzo di prog. p2p....ect.ect. 2)audio: sia che si attacchi il cavo nel pannello frontale (settato su HD Audio) sia che lo si attacchi in quello posteriore, l'audio funziona a meraviglia. Con la P5KC l'attacco frontale era penoso....dava continui problemi!!! 3)calore: ho sia un ottimo case "Thermaltake Bach VX" e che un efficientissimo dissipatore "Zerotherm BTF92". In Idle:P5KC...27/29°...............P5K Pro....23/26° In Full:P5KC....42/45°...........P5K Pro......36/39° 4)layout: la P5KC è più bella e meglio organizzata. Inoltre è anche più larga della P5K Pro. Quest'ultima, dal punto di vista estetico, perde. Inoltre ci sono degli errori, secondo me: 1 su tutti riguarda la presa per l'alimentazione posta poco sotto il dissipatore. Chiaramente quest'ultima, essendo più stretta, ha poco spazio. Per fare un altro esempio: la sk. video (point of view 8600GT) sfiora il primo banco di ram. E ancora: hanno installato i conduttori troppo vicino al socket 775: mi riferisco a quelli posti sopra il processore. Proprio per questo motivo sono stato costretto a montare il dissipatore (Zerotherm BTF92) con le ventola rivolta verso le ram; oppure dovevo installarlo con la ventola rivolta verso un'altra ventola montata per espellere calore. In realtà questo dissipatore è stato ideato per essere installato in 4 modi. Ho effettuato dei "SuperPi" sia da 1MB - 8MB che 32MB. Ho ottenuto gli stessi risultati raggiunti con la P5KC. Alla fine la P5K Pro ha difetti e pregi come le altre della serie P5K. Se penso solo che ho risolto i miei problemi: audio - lan - vdropp eccessivo, mi ritengo molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto!!! Sicuramente avrò commesso degli errori...non mi e per questo chiedo scusa in anticipo....
