Modem Hamlet HDSL640 Usb e Linux...
Con mio grande dispiacere ho scoperto che Knoppix (e penso Linux in generale) non è compatibile con il mio modem. Volevo allora sapere di cosa ho bisogno per poter navigare su Internet (Scheda di rete, Modem Ethernet, Cavi vari ecc) e come effettuare i collegamenti tra le periferiche. Se possibile vorrei anche conoscere quanto potrebbe costare il tutto. Grazie.

quello che ti serve e' un modem adsl ethernet, di marche e modelli ce ne sono parecchi ma nel basso della mia esperienza, sono tutti compatibili con il pppoe di linux. dal punto di vista del cavo, dipende anche dal modem, spesso e' compreso gia' il cavo adatto e altrettanto spesso la porta del modem stesso e' autosensing, cioe' permette di usare qualsiasi cavo (cross o straight) riconoscendolo ed adattandosi automaticamente. ovviamente nel pc ti serve una scheda di rete, se ne trovano a costi irrisori. personalmente ho optato (ai tempi) per un dlink dsl-300G+ che non mi ha dato mai mezzo problema
