fedora2 e problemi configurazione video notebook

ho un notebook con schermo widescreen (1280x800) e vorrei semplicemente mettere la sua risoluzione natia al posto dell'attuale 1024x768 che mi fa sembrare tutto "cicciotto"

Io invece ci sono riuscito ma ..... con KDE il sistema si impalla pochi secondi dopo aver fatto il login mentre con gnome mi permette di lavorarci ma poi si inkioda tutto. Chi sa il perchè? Cmq credo che il problema risiede nei driver ATI.

ascolta io non ho installato il driver ati, a me funziona tutto benissimo, semplicemente la grafica non è bella perchè troppo schiacciata e vorrei semplicemente mettere la risoluzione giusta, tu hai risolto installando semplicemente i driver o hai modificato a mano il file che ho postato?

Per installare i driver ho usato la seguente procedura:

successivamente ho editato /etc/X11/xorg.conf


Mi dici la procedura che hai usato per installare i driver.

io non ho installato i driver, questo è il problema, in cosa il tuo file xorg è diverso dal mio?

Ti posso dire della mia esperienza:
senza installare i driver ati mi era impossibile impostare l' LCD a 1280x800
installando i driver Ati, ho risolto il problema della risoluzione ma non sono riuscito ad attivare l'acceleratore HW 3d e .... mi si inchioda il sistema. Appena ho la possibilità ti posto il mio xorg.conf .
