At this point, this is only a theory; we only have our PEW Duron 700 and the results from ABIT's collection of Thunderbird and Duron processors. We haven't received Duron and Thunderbird samples from AMD to compare against our Duron.

In any case, with this information in hand, any consumer interested in purchasing an unlocked Thunderbird or Duron processor can walk in to their local computer store and easily pick one off the shelf, circumventing the need to modify the "golden bridges" on their processor!
