Dopo l'intervista di ieri fatta da John Carmack riguardo all'acquisto di 3Dfx da parte di nVidia al sito di Voodoo Extreme oggi è il turno di George Broussard, creatore di Duke Nukem Forever:
Voodoo Extreme: I'm sure you've seen the news (nVidia buying up most of 3dfx; 3dfx closing their doors shortly), if you haven't been hit up yet for a comment, anything that you'd actually like to say on this? Does this mean GLide is dead (just kidding)...Do you think, with less competition, we'll start to see the video card market, or rather, video card technology, advance a bit more slowly. Anything else on the closure of 3dfx? I mean, hell, they've been a dominant force for so long, it's honestly kind of strange to see them go.

George Broussard [Duke Nukem Forever]: I compare this to the sound card market. Look at Creative. They used to battle it out with many other sound card makers, but emerged as the dominant sound card provider, and became a standard. nVidia is in that position now, and as long as they continue to deliver cards that the fans want, they will stay that way. I also think developers will be happier with one major API to support (D3D).
