Dark Sector - Nuovo Video!

Q: What's so special about Dark Sector? A: Dark Sector is a first of its kind game that mixes deathmatch game play (Quake 3, Unreal Tournament) with Everquest style persistent world serving. That means you play as a character with stats and a reputation that will follow. This is definitely a cutting edge experiment in game design. Q: Who is making Dark Sector? A: Digital Extremes is making the game itself while they are using elements of Epic's Unreal engine. Q: What's the storyline? A: Ripped from the press release...Dark Sector is set in the wake of world devastation, where survivors are scattered throughout the solar system in a vast crumbling network of outposts and space stations. Anarchy reigns as violent factions wage war over limited resources. The remnants of world government have sanctioned bounty hunting in a desperate attempt to control the growing chaos. Q: Wait a minute, it's using the Unreal engine? I thought it was being made by DE? A: It is using a licensed copy of Epic's Unreal engine. Epic is NOT working on Dark Sector. Digital Extremes is also rewriting the rendering element of the Unreal engine. The engine will now be hardware only and will require a 3d card. Q: Will Glide still be supported? A: The engine is moving to D3D/OpenGL. Q: So what are going to be the system requirements? A: Right now the only requirement known is a 3d card, there will be no software rendering done in DS Q: So we have seen Unreal and Unreal Tournament, What major changes have been made to the characters to make Dark Sector stand out? A: The detail has been raised considerably higher, with characters maxing out at about 10,000 polygons ( UT characters were at about 700 Polygons ) With other features such as a "linking system" witch will allow characters to show exactly what they buy , and have the characters able to wear shades and even smoke!! Q: What's the setting? A: Our galaxy in approximately fifty to one hundred years in the future. Players will be able to move all over the galaxy, with special areas such as the rings of Saturn and an asteroid field. Q: How can a ship get across the galaxy so fast? A: DE will be including a feature known as hypergates, these hypergates will be used to get players from one area of space to another while in a ship. They may also be used to transport players themselves from one station to another, although that has not been confirmed Q: 50 years? What type of futuristic gizmos will we be seeing? A: Digital Extremes states that there will be futuristic versions of our weapons as well as spaceships that can be piloted and can get in dogfights. Q: Spaceships, how diverse will they be, and what about custom logos etc? A: Spaceships will probably have a Logo system where you can incorporate different decals or logos to customize your ship. Q: We can own spaceships, what about houses? A: Not houses, but you will be able to own property. Q: You mentioned some RPG elements, can you elaborate? A: Oh yes indeed. Players can pick from eight different classes to play as, such as bounty hunters and assassins! DE has hinted towards some limited stats that can improve over time. Similar to some Massively Multiplayer RPG's the world evolves over time. The developers have stated how much they love weather changes in Asheron's Call and have all but promised similar evolving worlds. DE wishes to actually have staff set aside to expand the world each month. Q: What gamemodes will be included? A: First is the main game, or the "real world", where being killed is a very bad thing(tm) and you don't respawn instantly. Then inside are virtual worlds where players can play Deathmatch and CTF without getting hurt in "the real world". Getting into the Deathmatch and CTF games will probably be done through the use of some sort of VR computer in the game that you would plug into (it's a good excuse for featuring good 'ole DM in a persistent world). There will also include a space combat mode where players can hop into a ship and fight it out among the stars, asteroids and around the space stations. Q: SO what kind of levels are we looking at and how big? A: Right now DE is looking at around 150 space station type levels ranging in size, and that does not include the planet based levels. Q: How many people will be in each "world" A: About 3000 people max will be allowed in each world. Q: How will my character become more powerful? A: Although it is still unknown whether or not there will be experience and leveling up, characters WILL gain power through finding weapons and cybernetic implants. You will also be able to pick items off the dead bodies of your opponents :) Q: If there are bounty Hunters there are bound to be bounties, how will people know who to target for their cash? A: There will be Billboards posted all across the game, the best players get their name and bounty placed around the levels for all to see. The example given by James Schmalz was that if Thresh started running around Dark Sector and killed everybody, billboards across the world would bear his name and the figures for his head, which would make players across the Dark Sector want to kill him for the cash. Q: What other ways are there to earn a virtual living? A: James Schmalz , " There will be dozens of ways to earn money in the game. You could even be a gun smuggler if you want. " there will even be a wager engine where you will be able to challenge another player 1 on 1 and bet anything , including your ship! Q: So what is to keep players from just running around fragging everyone they see? A: Certain bases will be more violent than others, the farther you get from the center of the DS civilization the more rowdy it is going to get . There will be , however , security bots stationed around the levels, if a Player starts causing havoc, security will jump in and "deal" with that player. The closer you are to the center of the Dark Sector, the more security bots there are. Q: What will be done to support teamplay and clans? A: In DS clans are known as "syndicates". Apparently they will play a massive role in the game as players banded into syndicates can actually control geographical areas in the map. Q: Hmm How about voice communication through the game? I need to ba able to chat with my Syndicate. A: Yes voice communication through the game will be supported Q: What will DE be doing to help support mod builders and coders? A: DE's response to this is very interesting as they seem to wish to actually involve mod developers in the game play. Sez DE "The framework of the game lends itself well to players 'inventing' their own modes of play; this is an exciting prospect." Q: Other Multiplayer games have special events that people can take part in. Will there be any sort of events that people can look forward to ? A: Dark Sector will have a ladder system in the game. Perhaps the 10 best people each month or two could fight it out for some sort of prize. this way it will give people something to strive for, Q: I'm excited. When will I see this in stores? A: When it's done :) After a poll on the site most people are actually expecting to see in it in about 1.5 to 2 years, it will be worth the wait |

Certe texture fanno concorrenza alla nutella, poi spesso non è applicato l'aniso.
