[NEWS] Apple QuickTime NULL Pointer Dereference Denial of Service Vulnerability

Security Focus riporta un bollettino di sicurezza (Bugtraq ID 35359) in cui si spiega che è stata trovata una vulnerabilità in Apple QuickTime che esporrebbe, il computer di un utente ignaro ad attacchi di tipo: denial-of-service (DoS). Cosa molto importante da sapere è che un attacker può sfruttare questa falla solo attraverso l'interazione tra il browser Apple Safari e Apple QuickTime inducendo, un utente ignaro, a visitare un sito malevolo creato ad hoc che porterebbe come conseguanza il crash del medesimo. Lo sfruttamento con successo di questa falla potrebbe permettere il crash del browser, negando di fatto il servizio al legittimo user. Data la natura del bug, sarebbe possibile anche l'esecuzione di codice arbitrario malevolo da remoto, ma questo non è stato confermato.
